Is pure no-end-in-sight manual hard work the only way to get solid Tier 1 links? Im in the midst of building 20 manual Tier 1 web2.0s, and i feel like im never gonna finish at the rate im going at now. Im contemplating on using a content generator at this point. Theres a good one i found here on bhw with built in Copyscape that supposedly comes up with 70% unique readable articles which can be fixed to 100% with a few minutes of tweaking them. If the end result is indeed 100% unique then why do content gens get a bad rep? Whats the risk?

It's because most content generators steal text from other websites, and thus create issues with plagiarism. Or the content is so horribly generated, it doesn't make any sense. If you want an exception to this rule, look up the First Draft Content Generator or IM me for a direct link. It doesn't generate any material from other websites. And its output is completely sensible.

I've used content generators successfully. Spun garbage content still works in Tier 1, but of course you have to balance that against long term safety, it depends what is important to you.

I agree with these sentiments. Not all content generators are created equally, and a lot can be done by the operator in terms of constructing their spintax content for article creation. With a little more work up-front in creating quality seed articles it is not hard at all to create completely unique content regularly. The key of course is using the right mix of quality content to match your tiered linking needs.
