When choosing a domain, is it better to select a name that's brandable or includes your main keywords? I wouldn't consider it a churn and burn site as it is a site I plan on actively promoting for many years using only white hat seo methods. For that reason, I'm thinking more of a brand name but don't want my seo to suffer. Is the domain name a large enough ranking factor to to use keywords? As an example, I don't mean the difference is as drastic as Google.url vs SearchEngine.url but more like Keyword.url (kw with 20,000 searches per month) vs AdjectiveOtherKeyword.url (brand and kw with only 500 searches per month.)

I'd go with the brand over the keyword.

There are so many other variables when it comes to ranking - you won't be missing out.

After all, something like BlueRiverSupplements.com sounds better than BestOnlineSupplementsCheap.com

See what I'm saying?

Right, that's the point I was trying to get across! Maybe the keyword domain would help me rank, but the user experience would decline because it looks spammy. Thanks!

Brand names the way to go, if you planning to go for the long run (which you are)

If there's a very good keyword domain available, use it, Otherwise, go with a brand name.

No choosing some brand name will create copyrites issues soon or later. If you caught then the original company will sue you. Better be away from the brand names.

He is asking to make his OWN brand name or a exact match domain. Nothing to do with stealing brands.
