hekke's Amazon Affiliate Journey

You're welcome!

What do you mean by those CTR numbers? Is it numbers from your french site vs. your US site? Well, I would totally work on that CTR on the french site. I posted some tips how I did it (comparison charts, links on images, etc).

I've seen a lot of good comments about both MarketSamurai and LongTailPro. I've tested MS but I don't feel like it is efficient enough. Just checking the link profile is enough for me to be honest. I will try out LTP asap, seems like a decent tool. But let's be honest, keyword research isn't rocket science - you could easily do it only using free tools.

Common sense, Keyword Planner and that daily free trial on ahrefs works great. It was what I used for a long time. But, if you have money to invest, paying for a tool to make the process more efficient is great. Thanks for the recommendations! :)

The french and american website are build exactly the same way. The difference is more in the mentality of the people : for american it's nice and easy and fell natural to buy in amazon, for french people they are a lot of article about amazon in the news telling that the work condition are not nice etc... in the eyes of the public it's not the same trust.

When i'm speaking about ctr i mean that on all my clic going to amazon the american will have around 60-65 % of the visitors who will buy a product, when there is only around 5 % for the french one ( i have 8 amazon french wensite and some thousands of clics for this stats and spook with other french amazon marketer, this ctr are what you can expect) .

Hello Hekke. I have read your journey and it inspired me, thanks.
i have some questions, i hope you don't mind. i was surfing amazon, and found some good keywords with searches of 200 - 500 and with single or ~5 backlincks on 1st result. but the fact is, there 's amazon and product's own company in serp. will it be impossible to beat them? here's the situation -
1st place - somehow aged website, ranking for product review with single backlink , not so HQ backlink.
2nd - Brand's official website.
3rd , 4 th - Amazon
would you go for it? do you mind if you will have to compete with amazon and brands?

Great thread.

I have a question. In another thread, someone said that they had their Amazon disclaimer in the footer of their site, but then they moved it to a separate page and they noticed their Google rankings improve. Do you put your Amazon disclaimer on a separate page or does this make no difference with regards to ranking?

New little update about BLUE.

UPDATE
I realized that the 10 products I reviewed & talked about in the long article weren't as related as I previously thought. So I decided to split them into two pages. I ordered a new introduction for the 5 reviews and I created a new page.

Now I got 3 best of-articles on this site - around 2-3 types left to cover. Will order atleast one of those tonight and publish it tomorrow. I will also order 10 single review article talking about the products I've covered in the best of articles and schedule out those that I receive tonight.

The total price that I've paid for my 3 articles (7683 words) is around $60.

Until next time,
hekke

Very good hard work buddy.. Nice to follow more.

Good Luck with your journey
Thank you!

Oh! Yeah, that is understandable.

Just a heads up.
CTR = click through rate = percentage that click on a link.
CR is conversion rate = percentage that convert.

Best of luck with your sites! :)

Can you list your wp-plugin?

I suggest to watch this movie "limitless" with bradley cooper, very inspiring for me ;)
Thanks for the suggestion!

These are the plugins I use: Contact Form, Google XML Sitemaps, Image Widget (for a banner to Amazon), No follow external link, TablePress, W3 Total Cache, Wordfence Security and Yoast SEO (barely use it anymore though).

You can totally beat brands and Amazon. Amazon is often a product page without much content and just ranking because of it's DA - you can easily beat that with just a few links. I often rank above most brands in my niches, most of the time they haven't done shit for SEO and you can beat them with a few web 2.0 links.

I rank above "brand" on some even, which I find hilarious. The niche you've found seems good, you can easily make a site and flip it for a grand or so! :)

I have a separate page but I don't think it makes any difference. Often, people are just thinking too much about all of their steps. As long as your site is good and your backlinks are good, a small disclaimer won't matter whatsoever. :)
Great mate. All the best for your journey...

UPDATE
Still on holiday for one more week. No Wi-Fi here so working is a bit hard, but I manage to get in an hour or so per day to check stats and such. I never ordered 6 articles for the sites before but I got some good news, I got my cheque deposited! I am ready to buy some web 2.0's for BLUE and order more articles for both sites!

I will pay for SEMRush and SERPBook again. I don't really trust the stats at SERPLab to be honest. Rather just pay 1 dollar per day for some more reliable stats! I will get some more money in two weeks as well! :)

Not really more to update, haven't tracked the rankings for any of the sites for a few weeks. I've not gotten a single sale but a few clicks on links from both sites. Both of them get 3-4 visitors per day, I know, I need to put down more work than I have. I want to do it for all of you following as this is fucking boring having nothing to show up.

I promise, when I get home, the 15th, I will work my ass off to make sure that these both sites become huge hits! :)

Until next time,
hekke

It looks like we're at a pretty similar part of our journey hekke, I can't wait for you to get back and start seeing some progress!

AWESOME!!! I have been wanting to stick my toes in this water for a long time... Your insight is wonderful and I can't wait to see how RED/BLUE do in the future...

bK.

I look for a niche' tonight...

Thank you!

Thanks for answer, your aim(ing) is inspiring :)
one more question please, i searched for web content count for websites, and i found only this one working
http://www.seoreviewtools.com/bulk-web-page-word-count-checker/
but i quite don't trust it, it shows only 1500 words for 1st ranking website in my keyword, but when i visited website itself, it must be 3000+
and one more question, which plan of SEmrush do you use? the cheapest one?

Hey CockTailGuy321, I'm the developer of this tool.

Can you let me know which URL you've checked and the metric you used "Word count total" or "Corrected word count"?

The tool counts the number of words used inside the body of a web page and uses some filters to get the most accurate and representative word count.

I?m interested to see if the difference between the actual number of words used on the page and the results returned by the tool are as big as you mention.

PM sent :)

Because I'm a newbie I'm unable to send PM ;-) but here's the response..

To get a spider view of the page, preform these steps:
Google the URL -> click cache in Google -> text version of the page -> copy content (not the links) -> and past the results in Word.

You'll see a word count number around 1.451 words. As you can see, this result is pretty close to the returned result by the tool 1.423 (corrected word count)

Hekke, good job with this thread man. It's great to see someone with such dedication and determination!

Couple of questions for you.. I am an EU citizen (UK) and I was reading one of your replies a few pages back that talked about your Payoneer account and cheques etc.

Anyway, my question is just about taxes and the EU. I have an Amazon UK associates account, which is fairly self explanatory. But I want to start promoting US Amazon products (for obvious reasons) but the whole application process confused me to no end! how does it work in terms of tax etc? I know my question is a bit vague and I don't really know what I'm asking  but any light you can shed on the situation would be great! Anyone else reading this for that matter!

Good job with the thread again.. Looking forward to BLUE hitting the big time!

Great journey hekke! Read your whole thread, goodluck in the future!

Waiting for your backing to home and update.

one more question, how do you think, cheap "keyword" can be considered as a buying keyword? it has 6.6k searches monthly, and pretty low competition.

Yeah, I will be back within a few days. Will be awesome - a small little update will be included in this post.

Thanks for following. Best of luck with your own site(s)!

Cheques are, not worth it at, least in Sweden !
Depends on the bank. The other bank, my new bank, only wants $10 dollars to deposit it - but Payoneer will make life so much easier! (Ok, I just overexaturated but you atleast get my point, hah :)).

I don't really count the words on page nor the articles, I do although take the keywords from my competitors sites' with SEMRush. I pay $89 per month for SEMRush, I believe that it is the cheapest version? There doesn't seem to be a limit on how many searches you can make and that's what I use it for.

Hey, I just answered their questions to the best of my ability and got approved. I am 16, so if they found that out I'd be banned within no time - I will however make a new account soon enough with my moms information - but I doubt that they really care that much about age.

Thanks for the support.

Great journey hekke! Read your whole thread, goodluck in the future!
Thank you Knowle! :)

Waiting for your backing to home and update.
Small little update down below!

one more question, how do you think, cheap "keyword" can be considered as a buying keyword? it has 6.6k searches monthly, and pretty low competition.
Of course, people are always looking for the most affordable option that suits their budget. I definitely target those types of keywords and I think that everyone should (if they get any searches, that is). There is nothing bad with it.

UPDATE
Hey, it's been a while since I updated. I got a small update before I come home and that is about the content production on both sites. I have decided to hire 2 writers for each site to make content for the sites I think that I need to push out more content on both sites before I see some real results. I'll also need to build some links for both of my sites but I feel like I want the site to be filled with more (and better) quality articles.

I will find a handful of writers specified in the niche I am in and send them each a trial article to make. If they qualify, I will give them 1-2 articles per day to write for me. I'll be able to pump out content unlike any of my competitors and I can grab links from some great authority sites in my niche.

I am home tomorrow, so my goal is to find a few writers per then and assign them their first articles. I'll update you once I've found the right ones. :) A package of 50 web 2.0's should be put on BLUE soon enough as well. I think it will get a great positive push by just a few links so that'll be exciting.

Until next time,
hekke
