I am fairly new to instagram and in this thread I will share my experience, ask for advices, and also display the progress of my accounts.
I first started by creating an account and some hours later I used several applications available for download that are supposed to help get followers.
The next day my account was banned. I think it was banned but in fact it asks for it to be verified but whatever phone number I put I never get a text message.
Is this a sign of a ban?
Then I focused on learning and I am now using one main accout in a niche I am particularly fond of.
As soon as I created the account I verified it using my personal phone.
I used instagress during the 3 day trial to unfollow, and it worked quite well.
I do follow / like by hand, rarely comment. My approach is to follow the top followers of accounts in my niche. I do it manually in a batch until I get to the limit... then I wait some minutes and repeat.
Because I work during the day I mainly do this in the morning and at night.
I bought followliker and I am now using it to unfollow on this account.
After some hours of doing this I am unable to follow others anymore. I read that this can be like this during one day or so.
I am a bit ceptic, when I used instagress I could follow all the time, even when it was unfollowing.
After one week I have 1507 followers and I am following 3415.
After 12 hours, my posts have in average 75 likes and 2 or 3 comments.
Yesterday I announced that I would feature some pics for free if I got tagged or DM.
Today I have 6 people waiting to get featured.
I think this is a good thing to engage with the followers.
I am now looking for a way to schedule posts and I am trialing onlypult.com.
After scheduling a post for my 2nd account, today it is asking to be verified by phone again.
It is not possible to establish a relation, but this is what happened.
After buying FL I wanted to test some more with different accounts.
Because I didn't have any additional phone #s, I bought 10 PVA (phone verified accounts) with US numbers.
This is at the moment my major concern... one of the accounts that FL is handling is asking for phone validation again and I am afraid that the person that sold the accounts to me will not reply to my contacts and I will lose this account.
Ultimately now I am sure that I will have to handle myself all phone numbers so I am working in that direction.
As I said before, with FL I am using 3 accounts:
- account 1 is my main account and I do unfollow - 1507 followers
- account 2 is a test account, I haven't posted anything yet - 14 followers
- account 3 is also a test account, I have dedicated some time experiencing with it - 172 followers but on hold asking for phone verification
I don't use more than 3 because I don't have proxies, so I stick to the limit I read.
My moneitizing strategy is not yet defined... I see different approaches:
- I am not sure if I will put a link in my bio... can't really understand why it would lead to a ban. If I opened a business in instagram I would most certainly put my link since day one. However, based on what I read, I will not gamble with it, at least for the moment.
- shoutouts are an option, don't know if it will work in my niche.
- ultimately I could sell my account in some months.
Here's a list of some advices / rants / suggestions:
- don't put yourself in danger of losing your account. Control your verification phone numbers yourself.
- start slowly
- post quality content, related to your niche
- follow the most recent followers of big accounts in your niche
- engage with followers.
- FL is a good choice but is so user-unfriendly and it lacks basic functionalities: I cannot schedule automation to run from 10pm to 06am, I can only schedule tasks to run during a day, not to the next day. Managing settings for lots of accounts must be crazy: there should be a way to export and import settings by account so that we could change them easily each day. The fact that we cannot automate photo uploads is very disappointing.
