Hi guys,

I saw saw this proposal on a website (see attachment above) and just wanted to know if the techniques specified would be classed as white or back hat work? She said it's white hat but I got skeptical as she says she will get the video at least 500 views and 50 likes so that sounds to me like if all else fails she would just buy views/likes etc. What do you guys think?

Its black hat ofc.. 301 redirects? Is this 2013 again ?... also his strategy is kinda lame...i would't buy it if i was you.

I think that's White hat!
However, I recommend, you should give him YouTube Clickmeter link to track all the IPs, clicks and other stuff in detail.
If you see anything wrong in the middle, you can ask for clarification of the same showing him some clickmeter snapshots as a proofs ;)

As old people say "You will never know unless you try" :D

Hope that helped

You think its white hat? LOL

OP there is no thing as white hat when someone is building backlinks to your site, video, page, etc.

White hat is onsite optimization and you can still be penalized by that, everything else is black hat.

Its clearly link building, which is blackhat. If you want white hat OP put your hands in your pockets, and do nothing but post fresh content on your site, your site's social pages, and maybe refine your on-site SEO.

Secondly, that service looks lame.

thanks to everyone for their responses and help, much appreciated. Well the issue is that I was going to use it for my youtube channel but now I'm not sure if all these practices work for YouTube as they would a website. I've been doing youtube for 2 years now so I'm just trying to find a solution to get more exposure. Any advice I'd be thankful

Most IM services claim they don't use any blackhat methods, their all lying :P
Even one tiny step in any method could be considered black hat.

Its dirty dirty dirty, filthy, stinky hat

Exactly, I still don't understand why people start seeing good link building as white hat.

THERE IS NO SUCH LINK BUILDING AS WHITE HAT.

Also a complete noob which you can recognize instantly cause he is basing the value of a backlink on PR of a domain.

Dude, link building in any manner whatsoever for manipulating search engine rankings in Google is blackhat. Period.

There's no such thing as white hat seo. If you do any link building to your site or web property, it's black hat :-) If someone wants bleached white hat seo techniques, they should stick to onsite methods only IMO.

I say blackhat. I do not see any way that this can be white hat. Clearly an argument here but most def. black hat!

Thanks to everyone who gave a helpful response. So let me just ask, if I was to pay someone who used the methods in OP (but better quality methods/techniques lol) to help rank a YouTube video and Google caught me, would they remove my video/ban my channel or would they just stop my video coming up in relevant Google searches? And how easy is it to get caught doing these black hat methods?
