.infos penalized from the get-go?

I'm getting ready to launch a bunch of new automated sites, and I've heard from a friend in the business that .infos are harder to get indexed. He says they take longer and don't get as much traffic. He doesn't have a ton of data to go off of though. Does anyone else have any experience in this?

.Infos can rank really well given you don't just throw them up on google with a shit cloaker and expect some magical to happen within 24 hrs.

Try to build them up a little gradually if you are intending to bringing organic traffic.

yeah I have some .infos that rank better than my .com although they belong to the same niche...

i have a couple of .info's that are ranking very well in the se's...

i am not an expert but i put these in the engines from the start and they had no problems getting indexed in the engines...

do it the right way and they will last a very long time, that goes for any type of domain.

I had friends who had better success with .info domains compared to other Top Level Domains.

.info domain are cheapest but they sell for far more cheaper than other TLD. Anybody know why?

I have most of my TLDs as .info's and they're doing just fine!

Crappy Content = Crappy SERP listing. PERIOD!

Now, if you just happen to pick up a recently blacklisted domain... then I'm not sure what's up with that!

Interesting... Never thought of it that way and a DOT COM is usually recognized with being a WEBSITE and thus easiest to remember.

Well, the DOT INFOs have been around long enough, but it's a fact Registrars sell them cheaper for a reason?

I think most are using them for Backlinks and Blog/Cloak farming. Still, I don't think a non-marketer is looking at the extentions of the domain in SERP listing. Their looking at the topic and description, right?

I supposed each to their own... if you can find a decent dot com name go for it.... but, you may have no choice as they are being squatted upon more and more!

That's about the biggest reason why I still go with .com's against the cheaper .info. Simply because of the instant recognition that the .com brings. When I listen to the radio, you hear lots of ads trying to drive traffic to their sites and they all have .com. On TV, the big name advertisers all use .com.

So it just makes sense to go ahead with the .com if recognition and branding is important I guess. For me, I haven't tried .info's since everyone on the WF seemed to suggest against them...but a lot of you guys seem to be doing well.

I'll give it a try and see.

You can get info's for like 1.89....whats a .com cost like 6 or 7$$?? If your just building ten or so sites a month thats fine, but just imagine buyin 500 or 600 domains a month. It starts to add up, personally idk if they get penalized but I always use a .com for whitehat and a .info for blackhat. I figure they are only going to last a month or so anyway so I don't bother wasting the money on the .com

Try a mix of domain types on your sites and keep track of them. You will find what works for what you are doing.
