Instagram *follow limits* question

I'm a fairly experienced Instagram user but I do have one basic question which I can't seem to find the answer to.

We all know that, after following too many users within a certain time frame, your account will get blocked from following any additional users for a certain period of time (something like 6 hours I believe).

The question: After having been "follow blocked" once, does that in any way affect (reduce) your limit on how many users you can follow per hour after you have been unblocked again? Does Instagram adjust your account's "follow limits" depending on how many times you've been blocked or otherwise violated certain rules/limits?

If your limits do get reduced, does Instagram ever set them back to normal or is your account permanently "damaged?"

I don't think so. I'm following people manually on my one and only account and i think it was always around the same follows i could do b4 being blocked.

Thanks for your answer. The reason I was asking is that I got unblocked just a few hours ago after having followed too many users. A couple of hours after being unblocked, I followed about 15-20 users before getting blocked again. What was strange though, is that this second block seemed to last only for 2 or 3 hours before I could follow users again.

in my experience it's longer than 6hrs, more like 10-12. instagram will let you follow a few here and there before that but then it'll block you again if you do it too much.

i'd be interested in knowing if the limit is based on speed or total amount in a timeframe. does anyone know what the case is?

I'm fairly certain that "speed" and "amount in a timeframe" is the same thing because if you think about it, the only way Instagram can measure the "speed" at which you follow people is by determining the amount of people you follow in a given timeframe.
