They have BIG problems for at least 2 weeks. BIG FAIL!

Another example of you get what you pay for, in most cases quality costs. If your sites are important to you you are better off paying another $30 or so a year.

With dreamhost for example you said they were down for 2 weeks - if you earn more than $15 a week you have lost money because you didn't invest in good hosting!

oh I see,so dreamhost is sucks,and that's why dreamhost had free hosting promo with geocities,I thought how come dreamhost can give free host for 2 years,and now when the promo ended,lots of people tried to sell their 2-years promo host in dp,lol,dp such a retard,they even sell what is free!

if you arent pushing 23094820938409238409234230948 impressions a day to your dreamhost hosting... theres no problems with them at all... i do find however their mysql servers to be a bit laggy... but most stuff you dont use mysql for...

with the deal that just went on for a year with domain for 9.24, thats such a great deal for noobs tryin to figure it out in this game, they dont get nearly enough hits to even matter, and it stays alive for a year while they figure stuff out ;x

Ive been with Dreamhost for the past 3 years and part from the odd afore mentioned mysql lag, there's been no serious issues with the cluster im on. It's pretty much accepted that outages occour on shared hosting servers, nobody wants it to happen, but when it does, people naturally bitch about it. Mostly those who bitch, are the ones causing load balancing issues by running several auto-blogs. If you need a more robust hosting solution, perhaps you should consider dedicated hosting.Personally, i'd recommend Dreamhost to anybody! $5 - per month for what's on offer is extremely good value.

At least their PR machine isn't broken

I haven't had any probs with them so far....and for $10, there is only so much complaining that I will do. 1and1 had issues with one of their servers the past couple weeks so it happens on many shared hosting.

It is easy to tell people that you should buy this and pay for that but sometimes that isn't an option. You do what you can, when you can ,where you can and that's that!

I also host with Dreamhost and have had no issues. My sites never went down (as far as i can tell) and I am using mysql on all 3 sites. I think it is a great value for the money.

No complaints here with Dreamhost. I started a few blackhat sites last month along with a few whitehat sites as well. Next month I'm moving the b/h sites to offshore hosting and I'll use my account for my white and grey sites. They are a little laggy as stated above; but hey for 10 bucks a year... Beats the hell outta Bytehost and their Mybookface annoying scam b/s.

dreamhost is SHIT, stay away from them, i had like 100 blogs there and someone broken into and installed some spyware and dreamhost just closed my account and that was just after i renew to another year of hosting, fscking assholes!!!

Which would be the best alternative to Dreamhost that is affordable with a good reputable of being stable, fast, and has good customer support??

How much traffic is needed to consider one of those $20 hosting/month and how much traffic is okay for one of those $4-6/m hosting?

I'm asking for like:
500 visits daily etc...
