growing a personal male model account

Okay, so basically I'm wanting to grow my personal ig account (I'm a male model). The reason for this is because its an amazing marketing/exposure tool and some clients even ask how many followers you have (becoming more and more this way as well) as it increases their exposure too. Ive tried a bot, however I cant get my account banned so I've ruled it out. Also too many people which I followed were asking me why I followed their account. Ive purchased shoutouts from an account with 2.8m followers which gets an average of 60K likes per photo and Ive been gaining 300-500 followers each shoutout. Other accounts I've tried and have had terrible results. This has decreased each time I do it. The goal is to get to 10K+, with my account currently at 5.5K. Can anyone shine some light or have any thoughts/ideas/propositions? Thank You

I'd connect with other male models around your range. There's this girl at my school, whom I rather hate (not for IG, just terrible in every corner of life), who became famous due to other people. She's a makeup tutorialist or whatever it's called, and on Youtube she's getting close to half a million subs, on IG she's passed 105K, and on twitter she's also getting close to 6 figures. With all that, plus her own makeup line now and tshirts, she's going to be making 6 figures when she turns 18. Now.. how did she do it? She became friends with other makeup girls who worked for this local company. She got onboard too and every single one of the girls working with this brand got popular. The thing is though, for the most part, she piggy-backed off their success. (The brand not so much, more the girls) These ladies have anywhere from double to ten-fold the amount of subs/followers she has on any social media platform and in truth, are much., MUCH better looking than she is. This girl has inspired me to beat her personal IG soon. I think you can connect to this much more, coming as makeup and modelling are quite similar. Sure, looks count.. but it's just like anything on the internet. Quality is great, but even if you're the greatest looking male model there is out there, without traffic/discovery/etc. you're not going to make a penny. Get connections. Message all the people you know. Local is 10x better than anything international, since you can connect with other male models and ride each other's success much better, but anything works.

Thanks for the reply!! I have implemented this tactic (only with people who have smaller accounts, gonna have to find bigger ones) but I could take it to the next level and widen my connections much more. A lot of models who end up with large followings get there because of this exact reason.

demig0dm0dels and modelsdot are some accounts that you should be looking at for shout outs...

One thing is to ensure that you are signed to an agency and WRITE IT DOWN on your page...because so many people are saying that they are models, when in reality they are aspiring models with no contract!
Another thing is to make your page look legit--like with gioboyparis, he posts great content, from work, family and friends...the latter two are when you become more famous and people want to get to know you better.
But post some of the work you are doing, and some behind the scenes shots like what riverviiperi does.

You need to have more of an edge on social media to be big, like Cara Delevingne. And try to make yourself stand out.

Network, network, network.

Make friends with popular models, hang out with them.

Also, this shoutout strategy is good, keep looking for quality shoutouters (Is this even a word?).

I've grown my personal account to 62K, if you're as good looking as you say I would attack Makeup, hairstylists, nail accounts. These are highly female dominated and bring amazing results for good looking men, well for me at least.


manually follow and unfollow if you're not wanting to use a bot, but it's pretty sill not to.
