What SEO techniques are working in 2015?

Hi,

I wanted to ask the users on BHW with all the updates Google has gone through, what is working in terms of SEO strageties in 2015? Is it still the standard link building and quality content, or are there certain things that is google favors more when ranking sites? I am currently running a p**n site and it's next to impossible for me to get backlinks for it. Most sites that i've tried building links to just delete my comments and to be honest there isn't actually that many adult sites out there that you can build links to. Do you guys think it's worth trying some blackhat methods like scrapbox or GSA? Any good sales threads on here that users would recommend for SEO?

Aside from getting away with awful, useless content, everything is still pretty much the same. If Google sees you have a good site, other decent sites are linking to you, and you've got nice UX etc, then you can't go wrong. Web 2.0's still work, and so does spun content. You just have to do a better job than you would have done a few years back

I guess many still invest and spend time using Scrapebox. As for methods, I would say (prudent) guest blogging is a good way to boost serps. Spinning is like walking on ice, if you don't do it well, you'll screw your whole system...

The adult industry is a different game altogether. Buy domains and set up an adult private blog network to get started. Analyse your competitors with SEMRush and see where their links are coming from and try to acquire them.

Good idea. But do you set it up yourself or get a service provider here to do it? How difficult it is to DIY?

Increase the amount of text and images for each page (with keywords of course) to 800 or 1000 words or more. Include the occasional links out to a high authority site in the same/related niche. I make my pages look neat despite the amount of text by putting longer texts in a 'read more' (which just displays/hides text for the reader, but all the text is visible for crawling). Of course the text has to be well written, interesting and useful otherwise what's the point. I have found these onpage techniques really make a difference and it takes just a few days to see shifts in the serps, so you can really experiment with what works and what doesn't (obviously you need to already be ranking in order to experiment).

Also gain mention and co-citations in niche websites or forums, try different meta tag titles for better CTR from organic results or even better serp position, content that "serves" people based on "evergreen" queries and trending ones.

I think also updated content (using schemas like datePublished and DateModified and httpheader) is a good way to look good.

The safest way is to keep everything natural. That way, you'll always be protected from google's updates.
