Competitor using 301 redirect from facebook?

Just had a quick look at my competitor's backlinks to see they have (4 in total) 301 redirects from fb.me/xxxxxxx links.

These links go to special offers on their site that may have been promoted on FB in the past... (not sure)

Hadn't come across these 301's from FB before and just wondered if someone could share their knowledge of such backlinks.

not really sure it would have much effect tbh as all fb.me links are nofollow

I know they are nofollow but just wondered how it was done, they have a good balance of both follow and nofollow

There just geo links from specific country where the website never worked .....

the 301 page means redirected that it but,

becouse the the user got the redirect in place can re use the website or web page in the future including the followers ok .
