The problem here is the audience you guys targeted are not buyers. Not all target audience will be buyers. Change it up and you will be good.

Actually potential buyers don't want to wait until a set number, e.g. 3, sales are booked before the tshirt is even printed and then later shipped. No body will want to give away their CC/DB details, and then wait for 7-30 days before the shirt is even printed and packaged, and then additional 4-10 days to receive their purchased t-shirt in mail. Most of those FB users who are jumping in enthusiasm initially ("take my money...", "I wanted it like yesterday!!!...") are not buying may be because of the above reason/s.

Good post. I nor' anyone else I know would want to just put their money in limbo while they wait to even see if the item is going to do well.

Teespring works great for bigger groups, charity type deals, someone who is known. It doesn't work too well with random strangers, especially in this economy. You're more likely to get buys if the minimum purchase quantity is already met and they know it's shipping within the next day or two.

Another thing is, I have seen so many Teespring guides and been spammed myself with the ads. People are becoming immune to all the adverts on FB from it.

Now with that said, this can be twisted and you don't need to use teespring at all for it.

I think this is it. It's what I was thinking even before you wrote it. Nobody wants to give away details and make a payment that hangs in limbo. I wouldn't.

Incidentally, I designed a graphics for my daughter just 2 hours back in PS... she selected two Disney images, I composed them into one and did all that was needed to do (clearing the BG, resizing, modifying certain things like lighting, levels, resizing, resolution, ... added a few things, and then exported as PNG. I uploaded to a site where a women's t-shirt was ready to take the design. It asked a few things, and it was ready. I gave the necessary details and paid through online banking... All that process was completed in less than 2 hours -- from asking her what design she wanted, then spending some time googling the images, then designing, etc. .. up to the completion of the payment transaction on the site.

I will get the t-shirt in not more than 4-5 weekdays! No waiting for a set number of orders to be booked etc... this is how we get things on ebay and amazon. You select and order, and they give you acknowledgement of the payment. All that happens in 10-15 minutes max! The only additional step involved is the custom designing part... And with today's advanced garment printing technology, there is no need to create screen-printing mesh etc. I am sure that TeeSpring also does the DTG (Direct to Garment) digital printing and not the old-fashioned screen-printing processes. So why do they need minimum 3 orders to set up a transaction?! Are they aware that they are losing, I guess, almost 90%+ of the business because of the needless wait for 3 customers' orders...?

Also the cost of the t-shirt on that site is about 50-100% more than what you'd see on a normal marketplace. $19.95 for a simple t-shirt with about 3 lines of text is too much imo. If they do the business like what I have experienced above, then they can reduce the cost, and still they would earn profits along with the designer because the sales would shoot straight up imo as the only hurdle, that long delay (waiting for 3 completed orders), is removed.

When I was complete noob and I have discovered Teespring. I just took my fake FB acc. Used trending niche. I have stole design from another T-Shirt. Found related FanPages. I posted nice replies to posts and made 17 sales Maybe you need to target little older Audience who will most likely have at least paypal / CC. In custom audiences or behaviours you can also target people who already bought something on facebook.

Well the thing is its all about who you target. Your target audience needs to passionate about the niche so much so that they will buy tees to support their cause.

Ok, here's what I have to offer for this discussion

Like I said in my earlier post I always wanted to give teespring a shot, and after reading this post I did! I didn't do that much. I Created a simple t shirt with a quote, joined a bunch of facebook groups related to that niche and posted a PICTURE of the t shirt. NOT the link

Many people liked it and I recieved number of comments asking for a link to buy the t shirt. When I gave them the link they thanked me and said that they are definitely gonna buy the t shirt!

Results : After one hour I got one sale. Another one on the next day. That's it! The t shirt will not get printed since I need one more sale for them to start printing

It's not bad. I made two sales. But the conversion rate is really really low. Maybe it's the price. People don't want to spend 22 - 25 dollars on a t shirt with a simple quote.

I think if I lowered my profit margin to something like $3 per sale, I would get more sales. Given that I didn't pay for advertising, $3 per sale is not that bad

One more thing. Posting on groups is very tricky. If you are not careful you are gonna get banned in no time. You should give them something they want, build authority and then try

FB ads do not work anymore on teespring unless you have a very large daily ad budget to spend. I used different designs, different target groups, result is alway 0 sales. Also you just get likes and comments with this method, and just because you like something, do you immediately buy it? Don't think so. Especially if you have to wait till (and if at all) it gets printed.
