Someone hacked my credit card !?!?

How is that possible!
How can anyone hack my credit card info and everything!

Thank god my credit card company was smart enough to block the card instantly after some unusual activities on my card even without my request.

The guy is definitely a Internet marketer because he was trying to make big transaction (say 970$) on yahoo/bing network and other small ad networks!

Can anyone tell me how he did that?
So that I can take proper steps for future!

What do you mean he hacked your credit card? For online transactions it's enough if someone knew your CC number/exp date and cvv if you didn't have a 2 step verification for payments. Make sure you activate that to avoid such situations in the future (the sms one is great IMO)

By hacked I mean; the guy was from different country. So, he was definitely not my friend or relative or anyone near me!
Someone scraped out that info online!

Best solution to this is to get a second card which has zero balance and then transfer enough money for the purchase each time. This way even if your card info gets stolen there is no way for the scammer to steal your money as your card is empty.

For trusted sites with recurring payments you can use the main card.

Card info can be stolen if your computer is infected or if you enter your details on a scam site (and even some supposingly legit sites might steal card info behind the scenes).

Perhaps you've made some sketchy purchases with that cc number? By sketchy I just mean offbeat or from someone you think may be malicious. Any close friends that do IM as well and are handy with a computer? Gotta think of every possibility mate. Sorry for your troubles, I really hope it works out for ya.

You need to contact your bank asap. They'll reverse the transactions

Thanks mate and no need to be sorry as I didn't loss any money. As I said my credit card company blocked the card instantly before the transaction could complete!

Their are many ways for criminals to steal your credit card:
- A merchant you shopped at was hacked
- A card skimming device was installed into a card terminal where you swipe your card
- A waitress or carder wrote down your information when you handed them your purchase, this is common at bars where you leave your card open for a tab.
- Malware on your computer / Keylogger

The list goes on and on...

There is an option with most cards now a days to lock specific account or purchases from certain areas. Just ask bank if you trust them

At least the bank can lock on your credit card... I can't lock my credit card on my parents. Spending half of my salary paying for their lifestyle

My CC has been hacked in other city after using my CC in the "bed" ATM. My bank make a full refund within 30days. For me it was a big surprise that I live in one city and at this time my cc charged in another city )
