PBN lost power?

I set up a PBN with 5 expired domains last year, TF & CT all 30+ on PR3 to 5's domains.

Posted unique articles on with a mix of blank and authority links to cnn, google etc. Posted recently and the articles/links don't seem to be as effective? The domains are sitll registered on Google - so not been indexed but when I test PA, it's way down to single digits from like 30+

Only EVER posted 1 link to the money sites, using only 1 unique relevant keyword per article to money sites, so no 2 links for the same keyword to the same url.

They have kept their PR, but I just wondered if there was any way to boost the PBN? To get more PA??

Help I need to make the SEO count.

PBN's not lost power, but the way people start using it recently make it useless.

PA decreased - it probably means that they somehow lost a majority of their existing links. Inspect the issue in other backlink checkers like Ahrefs and check out the referring domain counts to be sure.

I assume I am just reading that wrong and they are indeed indexed.

I have noticed that with some domains... although I never put any content on those or bothered to have them indexed.
But then I see years old inactive domains keeping their metrics so there is reason to believe some backlinks have dropped.

But I have a sneaky feeling something else is going on here... I think majestic or moz might be producing and updating the metrics based on new factors.

So you linked out more to random sites than your money site? This will give you less linkjuice. Forget PA, it has nothing to do with your rankings. Also you told that the domains kept their PR but PR hasn`t been updated almost 2 years (at least not publicly).

Get some high-quality content and update your PBN's/build new ones - losing it all now would be pointless.

Who gives a crap about the MOZ metrics? As long as the PBN-s still have their backlink profile intact, you have nothing to worry about. Also, as another member said, 5 is too low, especially if you are dealing in medium to high competitive niches.

I think you need to wait for some more days to see the actual power of the links from your PBN. Just keep adding unique contents and wait for the rankings to come in.

1 new domain won't make too much movement if in a medium competition niche in my experience. Also more time needed

Moz metrics are useless IMO. I don't understand why so many people quote those metrics. Moz has like 0.5% of the reach Googlebot does. The link profiles you see there are completely off the mark compared to Googlebot.

It's difficult to answer your original question without knowing more. But basically, links rot. You can't expect to rank forever based on 5 links. Your competitors are adding links too, so your links depreciate with time. Just gotta keep building.

Sounds like your domains just lost most of their existing backlinks. Just add a few more domains to refresh the network and all will be good again.

The question doesn't really make sense. All a PBN is is a group of websites that you own with the intention of adding a backlink to them. For PBN's to "lose power", it would mean that backlink impact would have to be reduced.

No. Backlink power has not been effected, therefore PBN's have not lost power at all. Maybe YOUR PBN lost some power due to your first tier losing it's second tier or something of that sort.

No . it have power ,maybe quality of PBN that you used is low or your niche need more posts.

I personally feel that Google has become more sensitive to footprints/pitfalls that many PBNs tend to have. So while the theory behind PBNs is still valid (websites that have good links pass link juice if you have a link on them, SEO 101) I believe that common PBN practices such as blocking bots, using cheap templates, using garbage content, and not drip-posting new content limits the flow of link juice from them.

If none of this applies to your PBN, than maybe it needs more links pointed to it. Or perhaps it's previous link profile was poor.
