Have an idea for a startup, where to hire the right developer(s)?

What's up guys,

I've recently come up with an idea which might potentially be a gold mine. I've checked interest in this specific product and I've been assured that demand for this is quite booming. Now I want to create a Minimum Viable Product and I've gathered some funds for this (a couple of thousand), but am not quite sure where I'd find a good developer who can create this specific piece of software.

Does anyone know where I could potentially find a decent developer in the whereabouts of London who's experienced with creating native iOS/Android apps? The objective is to create the app as quickly as possible, while keeping costs low and optimize+scale when the demand for the app grows.

Please do let me know where I could find a decent developer and give me some tips as to how to approach this project of mine. Any tips, tricks and ideas are more than welcome in regards to startups.

You're doing well not finding people on UK job boards. A proper web dev doesn't look for work there, lol.
I don't think you'll find any Londonians for a low-price. It costs money to breathe down there, for one.

Also, only choose company/agency that is using basecamp or jira with scrum etc for your project management and update.

I would recommend Upwork (Odesk in past), but be careful selecting candidates, there are so many irresponsible people there.

Whatever you decide make sure you have an NDA. I got an app created and it became semi popular and so I was making decent passive income per day. It got to a point where I couldnt handle the deman so i tried pursuing local developers. Thats where one team I approached liked my idea so much and since my app went viral that they wanted to do a JV with me. I turned them down and they decided to steal my idea and make a similar app.

You can find developers on freelancing sites online or perhaps even here. You can save tons of ash from overseas developers and their work is quite reasonable, especially if your looking for a minimum viable product.

Make sure you also read Apple's guidelines and rules for apps, They are bit stingy and require you to follow certain guidelines. My app got rejected a few times before getting approved. Cost me a few weeks since apple also takes at least a week to even review your app to be put on the app store

Honestly speaking I have apps related ideas too but there is this trust deficit.. I'm too scared to share it with people, the ideas get stolen just like in your case.

I have had luck with odesk and even fiverr. I used to try and find people locally to work with but it was ultimately cheaper to go with developers located remotely. Most legitimate companies will be willing to agree to a NDA. Also, using sites like the ones recommended help you by providing escrow type services so you are at less risk of being scammed.

That said finding said cofounder on the internet seems risky...
