The old icon shows that the woman behind the man and woman's figure a bit smaller.
But now woman is now front to the man and made the sizing more equal now. :)

Great Facebook!!!

Great!
I also see that the hairstyles are much better now :D

It's threads like this that are the reason I get infractions.

  • Women are shorter than men on avg (fact)
  • Women have less muscle (fact)
  • Women are smaller (fact)

Why do people need to attach all this crazy psychotic subliminal political symbolistic bs to things that don't exist?

Women are not the same size as men. They never will be.

The only thing that needs to be "symbolized" are the accurate physical statures of men and women. Not projections of anything else. No political shit. Nothing. All anyone needs to see is what's REAL. What represents what women actually look like in REAL LIFE.

The FIRST PERSON who strayed from that line of thought is where everything went wrong.

If you're going to think ANYTHING while looking at the previous picture, it should be.. "chicks are smaller than dudes" end of story. But somehow, someway someone didn't like that. Someone couldn't stand the fact that biology made men the ones with height and muscles. And I think that person was very insecure. To look so deep into a cartoon they thought this was a "problem". And that the solution to that problem was to put the woman in front of the man and make her the same height LOL. Any anatomist looking at that is gonna be like, "wtf"?

Furthermore, if you want real "gender equality".... why was this made by a woman?

As opposed to a man and woman at the same time? Why not make it a straight line between the both of them? The girl who made it said the womans "leaning in" on the man. Her concept of gender equality is to say that women LEAN on men? For what? Protection? They depend on them? That doesn't sound very equal.

If true, that women need to lean on men.... it might be more useful to lean on a man with 2 arms.

It's clear she was not thinking the word "lean". She was thinking, "how can I make this woman bigger than the man and explain it in a way that some idiot men will believe?" She succeeded. And now men are being symbolized as smaller than women. Just look at the picture.

Why is it such a big deal what gender two SHADOWS, with different hairstyles, got? How do we know that there is a woman and a man? Maybe it is a man with long hair and a woman with short hair. Damn, Facebook totally focusing on the wrong thing here.

I think that they should focus on the equality on censoring body parts such as the nipple. I've seen a new thing people do where they put women's nipples on their own nipples to show the stupidity of the censoring. Not only to Facebook and Instagram, but to the society overall. This is a great movement according to me as this just shows the inequality in today's society.

Below, you can find an example. Some might find this NSFW, so visit it at your own "risk".

This is just my opinion on this. I know that there are people who do not agree with me. Let's create a discussion instead of calling each other names. Otherwise this thread will be closed.

Best,

Media stunt is what we can call this. Even if facebook would increase or decrease the spacing between it's character in logo by a mere 0.00000000001 in, they are likely to create a ruckus about it.

That is something happened when google changed it's logo. They need those visitors and are no less than us webmasters whose motives are same.

Putting the woman in front of the man ISN'T equality!
Side by side is

So facebook changes that and it's now equality?

Like seriously?

***facepalm***
