I'm looking to hire a VA to do the tier 1 web building work for me. Pretty much building web2.0s etc.

Any recommendations or tips on what to look out for?

Maybe someone on here is offering a VA service? or where else is good to look?

you can check out Upwork but you pretty much need to either a) train them first or b) pay higher for experienced people

it's your call. I personally prefer to pay higher, ensuring the work gets done well. and I wont lose no sanity yelling at incompetent VAs.

ask them to build you 1, before you ask them to do 10

We offer tier1 linking service, but you can also check marketplace there are many service provider for tier 1 linking.

Imho, from my experience it's much better to use services in here (BST) than hiring a VA :)

I would recommend you using Upwork (Odesk in past). But be careful hiring people there. Some employees are to irresponsible. Try to hire those that have at least 100+ hours billed, have positive feedbacks and are "Odesk ready".

If you prefer to hire someone then it would be better to look for someone with tons of experience. This may cost you a bit more but it would be worth it, especially if he is able to deliver what you expected from him to deliver.

I've been looking at VAs too, OP. It's tough because you have to give up some of your trust. Something a lot of my customers do is have a phone call with me. Then they can just kinda feel my personality. I would do the same for a VA.

100% effing agree with you on this! Some dont even wanna pick up my Skype call, like wtf. I want someone honest and accountable and if you dont want to talk to me, then it plainly won't work.

Using video chat/call would be great idea, especially if one wants to establish trust between two parties.

When you deal with VAs make sure to talk to them over phone/skype or whatever means you have. If they're uncomfortable in talking to you, then it could be a bad signal. Always test them hard before you pick the right one.
