Can You Rank in Google Without Links?

With Good contents, proper on page optimization and a bit of social media activity will index it :)

Yes you can. In fact for white-hat, it's what you should be aiming for as backlinks will build naturally if you've got a good authority site. One of my old customers had a site with about 15 keywords ranking 1-5. Fair enough, most were niche-specific but a couple were pretty broad and we were kind of surprised.

Good content is important, obviously, but the biggest change came about when we reworked the internal structure. Breaking down into context-specific landing & child pages, good url keywords and lots of internal links we saw massive serp movement without any (deliberate) backlinking activity over 3/4 months.

THIS!

I've always followed this approach and so far, it still works. Useful content (informative, entertaining, anything that has some value for a group of people) will always attract links. Instead of spending a lot of time building links, I invest time constructing the content and just pump it with real good stuff and get the reader's incentive to share it to his/her social media networks.

Cheers!

I recently build a one-page site, did no backlinking, 4400 monthly searches, low-comp, on an EMD and ranking #1 in Google after a few weeks.
So to answer your question: yes it's possible, just find the right keyword for your site.

Yes definitely an excellent onpage generates better results.

I agree with you. content is the key to get high amount of traffic.

If the keyword is low competitive
perfect Onpage SEO + SMO can rank the site!

Back-Links are one kind of black hat . You can rank by only white hat seo. Depends on your creativity.

For years now, we've heard the drumbeat from Google that marketers should not focus on links. While it's accepted wisdom that you should avoid manipulative link building to rank higher in search results, the popular narrative would have us believe that links are not important in Google's ranking algorithms at all, and that link building can be safely ignored.

I have 2 (Medium comp.) keywords ranking page 1 on a blog I made a month ago, with no backlinks yet. so I would say yes

No links, no traffic! ;)

Unless it's a long tail keyword with almost no competition on it whatsoever.

It's perfectly easy to rank with a page without links while having lots of backlinks to the mainpage :)

Try it. The answer is yes. But it depends on your quality. So try two different methods, buy two different domains and test to see which one works best.

without backlinks it is not so fair get good ranking. But you can try with good contents and fine keywords...

I've managed to rank one of my sites in a small tech niche without any backlinking. I focused on creating about 15 unique articles, each with their own set of keywords. All my articles were at least 600 words, with some over 1200. I used Yoast wp plugin to facilitate easy SEO tracking of each page/post, ensuring proper meta tags, kw density etc.

The site currently ranks 26 keywords in the top 10 for google. The trick is, that 80% of these keywords, of course are low volume, but also include a common very popular service keyword. I also rank 1 keyword 1st and 1 in 2nd, again, without backlinks.

I have only just started backlinking for this site, curious to see how much it will affect rankings.

Yes! Of course you need good keyword research and make sure that the keywords aren't competitive. One of my amazon affiliate sites rank for a certain keyword because no one else has made a review for that specific product.
Writing your article and placing they keyword needs to be very on point however.

You need to have extra ordinary powers to rank your website with backlinks.

If your niche is less competitive and ON site stuff is good then yes :)
