Question about Google Plus and Facebook for SEO

I read a picture by MOZ that says a websites Google +1s and Facebook shares have a large impact on SEO. My question is how do I get Google +1s and Facebook shares for a website? Do I write a google plus post with my website in it and do I make a facebook post with my website in it and it and getting +1s and shares on that post is what you do? Is that what they are talking about? Thanks!

No, they do not (at least not that large of an impact). Just put social sharing buttons on your posts, give them a boost with a dozen fake signals (do NOT overdo it) and you will get the rest naturally once you rank on page 1. I don't put much importance to social signals rather than on-page SEO and linkbuilding and I am ranking just fine.

I rank ton of sites on page one without ANY socials done on them....I highly doubt the "large" impact of them on SEO. So, if it's not that I have a concrete strategy of utilizing those platforms, e.g. facebook for CS or user engagement, g+ for authorship etc., I won't bother....at least not in Tier 1
