Ghost Followers/Low Engagement

So I started a thread back about low engagement possibly from the use of botting(not blaming the software, instagram is just strict). But also there is the fact that a huge majority of accounts have low engagement, but for some reason there are those accounts that have about 4k-8k and get a much higher engagement than I do even though I am at 13k. I also realize I have about 8k ghost followers, not sure if because instagram marked me or not, but I feel like risking the getting rid of them, because I feel my engagement will jump back up. The bad thing is I'd drop below 13k, and be around 5k, but I figured if I am manually adding and liking and commenting I can match the loss rate of say IGex while it removes. I feel like that 8k of non activity is pulling me down, and I need to start fresh in a way. I can't see myself starting a new account, too much work, I've done it once already. So thoughts?

i did that not a long time ago I deleted like 7k followers and nothing changed lol.. And then I deleted some more hoping it would work and still no difference.

I think you should keep the followers, people would more follow an account with 13k followers than 5k followers.

OP better keep them, when you grow more like 27-28K then you can start removing them slowly.
