Hello fellow B-Hatters:
The issue has recently come up whereby a regular member (non-Jr VIP) might post a
very good, workable method and another member (usually a Jr VIP) requests that it
be moved to the Jr VIP area.
I believe that he best way to handle this is not for the staff member to immediately
move it, but rather for the individual who wants it moved to do the following:
1) Send a PM to the individual who posted the method and ask him/her if they wouldn't
mind if their thread was moved to the Jr. VIP area due to the possibility of over-saturation.
You can tell him/her that they will still be credited (thanked), but after the thread is moved,
they will no longer be able to see or participate on that thread, since they are not a Jr VIP.
2) If the individual replies to your PM and gives you the OK, then forward the PM to a Mod
and we will move it. However, if the individual says that he/she would prefer that it stays
in the public area, then it stays where it is.
In the past, I have responded to reports/requests for moving those threads myself, but I
believe that it is best that the "leg work" be done by the individual who wishes to have
the thread moved. With the number of members growing exponentially on BHW, the
staff is VERY BUSY and we do not have the time to respond to those requests.
I have a problem with moving those threads WITHOUT the poster's permission and I
believe that the poster should have the choice as to whether or not he/she wishes to
have it moved.
