How do these Google banned/penalized checker tools work?forU

I was requested by many of my clients to check for Google banned/penalty before providing them expired domains or Web 2.0s. I was using a Google banned checker I found online here:

To check if the expired domains or Web 2.0s were penalized. And in almost 80% of the cases, it showed penalized due to which it was creating a lot of problems.

So, today while testing it out I thought of trying out websites I know are definitely not penalized to check the effectiveness of the checker.

I entered many of my own websites and it was showing many of them as banned whereas those were very big websites with a lot of pages indexed in Google. It was just not possible.

So, I was very confused. I then entered BHW domain name and it also showed as banned. Then I entered DP forums url and it also showed that as banned. And finally I entered moz.com and even that showed up as banned. That was just the icing on the cake and I could well understand that the checker was just a lot of horse sh!t and I had wasted a lot of good expired domains and Web 2.0s in the last two weeks for this terrible checker. Each of the above three websites had upto a million pages indexed in Google and it was just not possible for any of them to be Google banned.

How do these worthless Google banned checkers work? How do they randomly come up with the idea of whether a website is banned or not in Google? Does anybody have an idea?

They don't. Use the site operator in google and you'll know if you're banned.

Thanks man. I know that. But it works only for existing sites and not expired domains/sites/Web 2.0s. Is there a way to check if an expired domain or Web 2.0s was banned by Google.

No, unfortunately, that's more of a guessing game and just going by your gut based on experience. Those tools are actually scams. They tell people they are banned to get them to buy into shoddy SEO services.

Those tools are basic scripts which are in no way affiliated with Google, and they don't even update with google.

Have you ever thought that it just gathers info? Probably thousands of other people such as yourself enter expired/expiring domains and the owner of the site gets a nice list to filter through and grab what he/she wants

Should always check multiple sources before you take any information as credible. In this case I would blame the person using the tool just as much as the tool.

Not trying to be an ass, just saying you should of been more thorough.

Thanks for the tip. I have noticed that https://ismywebsitepenalized.com/ works somewhat better for live websites. But for expired domains, research and gut feeling is probably the only way to go ahead.

That makes a lot of sense. I agree that there might be a chance that those guys are just creating a huge list of expired domains etc. free of cost if they keep those searches in the database. That is without doing any hard work and just benefiting from the hard work of others and giving some shoddy information.
