and has now threatened to kill me

we first agreed to a certain amount but he keeps going higher

I was hit with some ransom wear last night (it was my own fault), I couldn't access the web for ohhhhh 5 mins........... it was not hard to undo. (Obviously not the real Russian stuff) moral is most "hackers" are goons, if you stumble across a real one you would know about it.

oooh ransomware. That's some nasty stuff. I did a couple of articles for some antivirus merchants on that subject. I knew about it because my neighbor got hit with it, but once I read more about it, that's some major nasty shit.

My immediate thought was 'oh shit' followed by a mild panic, but I opened up the system on the command line and cleaned it out, thankfully it wasn't a file encryption type. It was just a pain in ass which delivered a pop up and locked all other functions. The pop up had a threat and a way to pay on it. Needless to say I won't be surfing porn again for a while (broke my own rules on internet security in a moment of boredom lol)

As a p.s. all of my systems start on the command line and I choose to go to a gui if I'm feeling lazy, this turned out to be a blessing in this instance.
