Are you saying it is likely many of these are not real IG users, possible bots, or purchased followers? Maybe it's an internal botting scenario, i.e. most of the accounts are managed by the same individual/bot.

they are real follower I think, like Hekke said, there was no limits when he followed them (long time ago), so a lot of these followers are not using instagram anymore (or made new accounts)
