Would transalating articles make them unique?

I'm sure someone had done this before
I know some good article sources in my native language,of course most of them are indexed,but if I'm translate them with google translator to english, would that make them unique,at least for tier 1 web 2.0s?

I've seen quite a few people in the past doing this and they probably still do it. I remember there was a guy on bhw that used dragon naturally speaking software with this method to write them even faster so maybe you should take a look at that too. IMO I don't see any reason why this wouldn't be great content for tier 1 web 2.0s

They may be unique but I am pretty sure google will detect this kind of method. I can't remember but I think I've read before that this is not recommended ... Anyway, let the other members say more about it. I am interested too...

I've been thinking the same thing when I asked this question,what about spining them,then?
It would decrease quality even further but I don't really want to mess up at my first try...

No, translated content is not unique. It's better to translate your content and apply the hreflang properties.

I have done this for my main website. Manual translation is the best way. If the OP go to spin the auto-translated content he/she will recieve junk content which will be easy detected by Google's updates...

yes, it will be consider unique if the article is manually translated or you use a professional tool for that
G can't make a decent translation on G translate how in the world can you imagine that it can make an exact translation to detect the content is duplicate...

But, the Google translator might not be the best rewriter as it basically supply direct word for word translations; you get grammar/tenses/synonym problems. As such it doesn?t always make sense/read fluently and it would thus be a good idea, should you use it, to manually correct some words/sentences. Thereafter it should be suitable for spinning to be used on tiers.

If you require quality articles you should get yourself a human translator.

i have been using translated content for my money site, tier one and filler content for my pbn, for a while now and had ZERO problems. Google can not detect that it is translated content. I use google translate but proof read it afterwards.

It can spit out some garbage depending on what language you translate from, but if you translate from french or german then you will only have to tweak the content a little bit
