It really depends on what you're good at. Usually it's the other way around: you decide what method you want to try and then you buy hosting/domains/tools etc

It always starts with a failure... trial and error.. but as soon as you hit your first penny, the motivation to do more excites you.. then, you fail again.. and if you are lucky you will discover a good method that works!

Make a site and blast some social media traffic to it whilst building authority profiles to increase your presence.

Keep running silent sites as it is much more difficult doing traditional SEO nowadays.

I would say it's easier .. Google is pretty clear what it wants. Great, fresh content, and lot's of authority.
