I built a link wheel for a domain i bought like week ago. Its been pretty close to a week and i still havent been indexed by google and neither has any of the 2.0 properties. I think i have one autoblog that got banned on the same hosting would this effect me getting indexed or not by google?

did you bookmark them?
ping them?

i followed the "linkwheel" method. created a linkwheel of 6 sites, "quizilla, blogger, blogsome, squidoo 2 others" linked them all to my main page. Then linked "quizilla to blogger, blogger to blogsome" like that. Then pinged them and the rss feeds.

bookmark them.
digg,mixx etc

Forgive my ignorance - what exactly is pinging?

Also, recommend building some other backlinks as well (ang or paul's) and social bookmarking them.

You could also submit a sitemap to google (in webmaster tools)

Good luck!

ping is pretty much "pinging" the search engine bots letting it to know to search your site for updated content to index or to index it for the first time.

Im trying to rank for keywords. There isn't a lot of competition for the keywords though. I suppose ill start building links from other places as well as book marking the web 2.0 properties. This is my first time actually trying to rank for specific keywords

Put a link in a forum sig like here. [if you have ability]

it will be indexed within a few hours if it is gona get indexed.

Write a catchy/nifty article and post it all over the web 2.0 socials using social marker.
You'll get traffic and backlinks. The web then know you exist.

Well thats the thing i saw a google bot search my link like 2 days ago and i still haven't showed up on google. Thats why it feels like it isnt gonna index.

It takes some time so be patient. Once your site is indexed it will take even more time after that to get in the serps. If you use the Google webmaster tools it will let you know the progress and if it has found any issues with your site that may be delaying the problem. I had an issue with one site with a dodgy .htacess file that stopped the bot from accessing the site even though it was fine for everyone else (it wasn't a robots issue either :p )

I think it depends on Google. I swear it has PMS at times. I've had sites take several days to get indexed and others took less than 24 hours.

Just post some comments in blogs or forum signatures like Dr Jekyll said and you'll get indexed pretty quickly. If you post some articles to sites like ezinearticles and goarticles, add a link to one of your web 2.0 properties and your main site in each article. You'll get them all indexed and start getting traffic to all of your sites.

make a video about your site and upload it to youtube, post it as an answer to a well know video(any category) and point in(in the description) to a digg post(of yours of course) and to a blogger(same u) site and you'll be indexed in 24h ;)

thanks secretboy 08 - look like I don't need to bother with pinging though, as google is already crawling my site every 10 minutes

Yeah i agree i think Google has PMS hardcore lmao. Normally my sites get indexed pretty fast without even trying. Oh well im sure if i keep pushing backlinks to it they will index it soon.
