I have an authority-based website which specializes in a certain spiritual niche. I use wordpress and create articles which focus on certain keywords.
I currently have about 20 articles and I use Yoast SEO plugin which for all my articles are Excellent. I also use GSA SER and only backlink on websites which have a PR of 3 or higher.
After backlinking ~100 websites for each article, my pages have about 20-30 PA (using Moz Toolbar). However, they are ranking at about 50-100 in google results for the keyword.
My competitors are all at about 20-30 PA as well and I'm really struggling trying to figure out how I should continue?
My mission is to get my articles at #1-5 for the exact keywords. I want my traffic to come from google results. However I don't know exactly how to continue with this. I don't want to spam backlinks in hopes to one day be #1.
I really don't understand what to do next and it's left me with lost motivation to continue as I really have no plans because I don't know what to do!!! My competitors are at ranks of 1-10 with only 20-30 PA and I'm sitting at 50-100 with the same... My articles contain very useful information and are made by word spinning forum posts.
I have a burning desire to succeed but this is my first attempt and I really have no idea what to do next. My website name also contains the main keyword and was an expired domain. It contained a decent amount of link juice and years, and was not penalized by google AFAIK.
