Do you guys have any ideas of services (other than seo/orm or web design) that I can use from bst/fiverr etc and offer to local businesses with huge markup? Cheers.

Like posting ads for a local car dealership, or real estate. I guess the scope of clients would be small, but still you could mark it up and outsource it.

I have a list of emails of local businesses separated into restaurants, coffee shops, dentists, florists etc. There has to be a better way of utilising this info?

There are many things you can offer to them and outsource from fivver.

Like mobile site, android/apple app, e.t.c. Also you can offer them lead generation service, social media management, reputation management, e.t.c

There are many dude! :)

Think outside the box.

I purchased this gig - https://www.fiverr.com/thecbusiness/post-75-color-flyers-at-stanford-university I opted for the $100 extra gig which is 12,500 flyers. (Not mine you can use it as an example)

I offered it to local Stanford companies telling them I could advertise their business to 10,000 plus local students. I spoke with them via email in depth how to maximize their conversions which was offering a 25% for students if they showed proof when coming in.

I had a flyer designed on fiverr for $5 for their business.

1 company had around 800 extra customers who brought in the flyer and another over 1000 new customers.

I charged them $500 and made sure they knew that works out as just 0.4 cents per potential lead (try getting that with facebook ads)

Both of which are now on a monthly plan of $300 each per month and I do various local flyer advertising for them.

Holy shit dude I was looking for an out of the box idea just like that! I have been racking my brain for a few days now for an idea just like that! I was thinking about selling something like Facebook likes/Twitter follows to local businesses but the example you shared is fantastic. Thank you for sharing it.

You're welcome. Likes and Twitter followers are good but tbh the world and his mother have already spammed the living hell out of every company offering their cheap services that they have become very wary of anyone like that.

You can follow the herd or be the Shepard....Always be the Shepard.

Can I ask how you are sending your emails to local businesses? Gmail is limiting me to 500 emails per day and using several accounts is getting annoying.

I have my own domain linked to Hostgator, I create an email account using Hostgator. They allow 500 emails an hour.

Thank you again for the share. It jump started my brain for multiple other ideas. Post like yours are why I joined bhw.

You can offer them lot's of things:
- Premium Business Cards - I mean maybe wooden, very thick paper, transparent etc.
- Go to restaurants and make a new menu for them. Or bring pre-made sample and ask if they would like to have that amazing menu.
- Go to Chicken Shops and make them new food offer banners, they always got disgusting once.
- as SEO you can offer adding them to 100+ citations and verify their google my business account.

There are actually plenty of things you can do :) Just move your a$$ and do at least one!

Local businesses need money, and you can't deal with corporate nationals because you will never get high enough to get a auto approved yes without status and authority. The problem isn't what you are offering them, it's how you present the offer.

Company A has a website, fanpage, decent sales. My job is NOT to give them more leads, its to increase sales from their current leads while generating more leads. Evry picture or video or word has to sell their brand as the only solution worth any time to the problem, anything short of this is a waste of time.

I dealt with a local mom and pop store and a locally owned Mcdonald's. Mom and pop were hard up for cash, so doing what I felt I cn easily redo for them brought in a extra $800 monthly, $700 of which I took as my commission for some labor and fees. The Mcdonald's had their "advertising" idiots contact me and ended up with me charging them $1,300 and the local ad generating around $13,000+ for a weekend. In the end I got the money after having to sell my soul, let a bunch of idiots wank over ripping me off, and learn a lesson that to deal with big corporations, let them come to you after you pull the carpet from underneath them.

If you establish contact with interested business owners and they want you to come in to discuss it in person how do you deal with that. I have an interested manager who wants me to come into the shop however I don't live in that region. Need some advice.

(The service I'm offering is like what Darren kindly shared above however not at Stanford)

Answered your pm. Glad to hear you have already had some great replies. Remember to update this thread if / when you get sales.
