I was in a Call of Duty clan called WereRushing and the team ended and one of the leaders took the twitter and is scamming people with it. This doesn't affect me until now, when the team is restarting and we need the official username to get back in the game. Anybody know a way to get my twitter username back? I can show proof I am on the team.

not sure what exactly the case is here, so did he hijack the handle only or your twitter acc all together?
if it's the former - not sure how that possibly could happen though, if a username is taken, it cannot be registered - i'm afraid you can't do much in this case, but if it's the latter and it was really your twitter account, contact twitter, they will have the ips which accessed the account and you must know the email/password you registered the account with, security question/answer, so you can prove your ownership to twitter and they will give the acc back to you eventually, if you manage to get their attention

You try to send report to twitter and tell your problem. They will help you to get back your account

Leader generally being the one who owns the account which would mean he didn't steal it, it was already his.
Now if the guy hacked your account then that's different.
