Anyone use Freelancer a lot??

What are the down sides and positives to it? What would you wish someone told you before you started using it? Really thinking of doing some jobs on there and getting my rep up to make some extra money to invest. So, any advice would be appreciated

Well I will be doing it to do jobs, rather than hiring people to do them. At first anyway. Once I make that money and save it to a certain point, I will start paying others to do my stuff and re invest

ive used it alot, spent more then 5000$ there, i would use the people they recommend. And make sure you talk to them first. alot of people are dumb and cant speak English.

I agree. There is an addon fee you can pay and have freelancer make recommendations on jobs and jobbers. Worth 20.00USD

Freelancer is one of the most competitive site , everyone is struggling ( Expect some of Top geeks ) to stay and its been bit hard for a new one to get hired on his first few days on his stay there ! Start bit slow earn some review then there you go

I haven't done freelancing there, and I've tended to seek out or otherwise drum up my own opportunities. It can be challenging at first, but if you know what your goals are you may easily find you can drum up enough of your own business to earn a respectable living while you grow your brand. I find opportunities to freelance online, offline, on classified sites, and often in various forums. The hire a freelancer section right here at BHW has been a great friend over the years. Do not be afraid to invest your time, money, and energy into yourself. You can do this whether it's at freelancer, or as a real freelancer - someone who finds work where and when they can that also produces revenue in line with one's own goals.
