I know you can get .tk for free, but how about .com? Someone told me they get free .com's but they wouldn't tell me where. Any help? Thanks!

No, you are not going to get free, But you can get .com for $0.99 on Godaddy.

I can only pay with PayPal, and GoDaddy doesn't accept PayPal. I have to go with the expensive NameCheap :/

a .com is arguably one of the most essentia investments and really not that expensive relative to it's importance...

It's not expensive from what you could do with it, but I don't have any money in my PayPal. Hard story to explain why I can't pay with debit.

its very hard to find a free non .com domain name
so how your friend can have a free .com domain name, they are just faking

I buy with paypal all the time, prob depends on country though

Some cheap hosting plans offer a free .com. Example FatCow. 10$ PayPal bucks for 12 months of hosting, free ad credits and a .com. But hosting sucks beyond you would believe, so not exactly recommending it. You will probably need hosting anyway, free hostings are the worst.

Are you from US?
Because I just double checked and I cannot pay with my PayPal account. In my opinion it is region restricted.
Payment type:
Credit/Debit/Prepaid Card
Checking Account
Gift Card

Since when does godaddy not accept Paypal? I can swear I bought a domain from there a few months ago and used Paypal.

I think when it comes to using those $0.99 coupons, godaddy forces you to only use a credit card to prevent people from abusing it.

Paypal offers a debit card though, and I'm pretty sure I've used it for Gomommy

2freewebhosting.com is okay. Never had issues with them, however they cant keep up with paid webhosting of course.

Namecheap is great!
I have all my domains there.
They also offer free WhoIs protection.

Some coupon codes and promotional pricing from GoDaddy do not accept Paypal as a form of payment actually. I'm sure some countries are excluded as well.

Ya you can get free .com's . I have seen one such kind of website who provides free domains and the name of the website is "awardspace".
