Hey Indians, which internet connection do you use?

I use Siti Cable. I get unlimited 1mbps (12-8 am, 2mbps) with siti to siti peering, for rs 900 per month incl tax.

Using BSNL Broadband 950 combo but gonna change it to 675 combo since both are 512 kbps unlimited, sadly no 1 Mbps or more unlimited plan available for our area from BSNL. :17:

I was using a MTS Mblaze Wifi Dongle - 40GB High speed (I used to get download speed around 1 Mega 'BYTE') and then its down to 12 freaking KBPS.

Changed to Asianet Broadband Rs 512 monthly, which is 1Mbps fully unmetered. That was a steal deal considering all available options and they stopped the plan to new customers after 2 days ;)

I don't trust what they say when they give the actual d/l speeds, or I haven't used any benchmark applications, don't know the exact term for those applications which tell you what rate it's downloading.... :)

But when I d/l using IDM+FF, the d/l speed easily goes up to 150~175 (kbps) easily. 110 ~ 125 is quite normal (sustained speed) and is sufficient for me, as I am never in any hurry. At present I am downloading a software (120mb), which I have paid for ofc :), and the download transfer rate is around 140~152 kb/sec consistent (using IDM).

IDM stats are all fake. It just shows the increase in download speed same as the fall in it.

I have checked this by installing other trackers, and it downloads at maximum bandwidth available. Only use of idm is resume/pause downloads, and to download at maximum server speed with multiple connections.

tum sab kanjoos log youtube me video upload karne ke liye konsa plan lete ho, sab kanjoos ho :p

Mind explaining a bit more? IDM is known for efficiently handling multiple connections for downloads and hence the slight increase in download speed.

Please elaborate if you dont mind.

If your plan can get you a maximum of 1 mpps speed (Around 128 KBps), then no software can raise it above that limit. IDM just show sort of fake stuff when downloading files.

For instance you may download "netspeedmonitor". It shows the download and upload speed your computer is using at that instant in the task bar. You will notice when downloading this tracker will show a constant download speed which is same as you maximum download cap by your ISP. While the IDM will lower or increase the speed stats when downloading.

There is only one option - MTNL. All other companies fool people with their so called 'unlimited' plans.

You won't find any other provider offering cheaper plan than MTNL.

but there is a frequent disconnection with it!!

I'm in Delhi and got local isp. 1 MBPS unlimited @820 RS per month. Unfortunately for me airtel is not available in my area and don't ever get tikona. That's one shitty isp.

I bought mts mblaze around 4 months ago. They offered superb speed. Although nowhere near as promise but it was able to reach 600kbps
But for the past two weeks there speed has gone down and is slower than tata docomo which you all know how bad is. I can say that because I have both of them.

I was using TIKONA in Bangalore.
Don't know whether it is available in Delhi.
They had unlimited plans and i used to download more than 20 GB per month.

WorldPhone. I doubt its available anywhere else.

There is one mtnl 3g plan for 1650 Rs in which you get 200 gb per month. Some say you can mail their support and get 200 gb more. But i never used it since mtnl 3g is weak where I live.
