I couldn't decide on choosing right plan for me, if you are living in delhi NCR, please suggest me a best plan that comes under 1000 and unlimited as well (like usual MTNL thing).

I don't see any private company offering unlimited Internet in India
only local Cable providers may have
otherwise BSNL or MTNL

Better to get Lease Line of Vodafone Provider. Its good speed and also 150 GB monthly Usage upto 4 mbps. Cross 150 GB after will get 516 KBps Speed

Reliance 3 dongle True unlimited for 999 ( NO FUP). Best ever used

Don't ever go for doc0m0 IMO. My friends who have it think they are cheated 24*7...

P.s.
Check Hathway internet cable. It's available only in select cities though, but I think if it's available, it's the best in all terms. Anyone using it?

We have their cable connection overhere in my city but will need to ask then about their internet plans...

I'm using Airtel's Rs. 700 + taxes pm unlimited plan since last 8+ years. It was 550+taxes initially, but I think you will not get it as new subscriber at 700 any more. I get 25 GB d/l pm at broadband speed before FUP limit (above 25 gb it's down to 512 kbps) applies.

Check this:

Can you tell me about the approx downloading speed when they say
2mbps
4mbps
512 kbps

AndAnd your experience using them, I don't have airtel option here, but tikona is offering a good service but I need to decide based upon your answer to above question.

Initial setup cost?

If you reside In delhi go for Den Broadband connection . Rs.650 / Unlimited connection . Last i used them 6 months back so if there is any changes in costing I am not aware of that.

I don't trust what they say when they give the actual d/l speeds, or I haven't used any benchmark applications, don't know the exact term for those applications which tell you what rate it's downloading.... :)

But when I d/l using IDM+FF, the d/l speed easily goes up to 150~175 (kbps) easily. 110 ~ 125 is quite normal (sustained speed) and is sufficient for me, as I am never in any hurry. At present I am downloading a software (120mb), which I have paid for ofc :), and the download transfer rate is around 140~152 kb/sec consistent (using IDM).

It is normally 1/8th of the internet plan you choose...but i might be wrong.

May be it is right, but I remember that when I was using the same broadband carrier some years back at 1MBPS unlimited, and when IDM was not available for me, the d/l transfer speed was usually around 85~100kbps consistently. that means, the IDM isn't giving me too much of d/l speed advantage over the default one, but whatever gets the thing done in a faster way is OK it seems... :) Anyway, Indian broadband speed consistency(!!) is no where compared to what it should actually be imo.

They might say that are offering 4mbps, but no one has really tested their word and at different times and different conditions...

In my town, the BSNL is down almost every alternate day, and sometimes for 8~8 days continuously! Once I visited the bank branch, and the manager, a family friend, was fuming because the bank's BSNL network was down for a week, and BSNL wasn't prepared to even tell him how long this would continue...

IMO, Airtel gives a steady performance, and may be Vodafone comes 2nd best or equal in my region. But Docomo, BSNL are best avoided.... better not to have internet at all, if those 2 are your only options. lol

The reason why we get 1/8th is that our computer process data in terms of Bytes. Whereas, ISP advertise their connection as bits, because networks default unit is bits.
1 byte=8 bits and they say Mbps(megabits per second) not MBps(mega bytes per second)

Reliance Jio is about to launch its FTTH and 4G. Check this speed imgur(.)com/ZmzmLwP Source: quora(.)com/Will-Mumbai-have-20-times-faster-Internet-in-few-months-Reliance-Jio/answer/Swadesh-Kumar-Nayak?srid=tBdv&share=1 I live in Guwahati, Assam. I might have to wait for FTTH but 4G will be available sooner. :)

I am using YOU broadband so far the best ISP atleast in my city
I am using 2mbps day night plan with no FUP

I just checked there website its available in delhi also
When I bought a connection few months ago I got a great deal with no installation charges and additional resources

I first used Tata Photon+ 3.1 Mbps For 999 INR i think for 10 gb Never saw Over 1 Mbps
Later Changed to Idea Netsetter 7.1 Mbps 11 GB For 1400 INR,Its been a headache because
after the 11 gb the speed lower down's to 156 Kbps Also Never Saw Over 2 Mbps.High Charges.

Now using Reliance Netconnect+ 3.1 Mbps, 20 GB Data For 1100 INR Including Taxes.Works Fine.

Looking to change For All New Act Fiber Net in my city,20 Mbps,60 GB,999 INR only,
Heard its working awesome. Will change in 1 month,Bcoz I really want some speed internet.
