Translating viralnova/buzzfeed articles to my own language

I was thinking about the following: since the whole facebook traffic / viral sites like viralnova, buzzfeed and bored panda took quite a jump lately I decided take that path. But since everyone and their grandma already made such a site in English in the last year, I was thinking of doing this in my own langiage. Im in a medium sized european country, and there are only a very few of these kind of websites.

Since these sites all take content from each other and copy/paste from where ever, my idea is to translate a lot of that popular content to my own language (but still use a link to images/text when needed)

How do you guys think this will work? Is this thing already totally saturated? Or is it worth pursuing? What about the translating idea?

How can it be saturated when you said it yourself that only a few websites like that exist in your country/language. So go for it, build some audience through social networks and you'll see the results.

I meant saturated as in: people already read all those posts in English and are not going to click on yhem again / share them. I guess it just takes some testing.

It's not saturated, believe me. a lot of cash to be milked here if you have the time to translate / money to outsource.
For fun I also added a quizz section to my website and that went really viral.

I would say it's SOMEWHAT saturated.

I remember seeing a method like this years ago when I initially joined, but it'll probably still work pretty well.

Haven't wrote a thing yet, so I'm not sure. But when I checked out viralnova/buzzfeed/all the other same type of sites they kinda copy off each other and so minimal linking back (only tell you where the pictures are from). So I guess I'm taking the road of crediting pictures to their owners, and as long as I change the text (translating it) I'm probabaly not going to link back.

I need to find out what legal / DMCA stuff is going on in my country, to be sure I'm not getting in heaps of trouble with that.

I don't have money to outsource (I barely have the money to buy the hosting and future fb ads ) but I can definately find the time to write/translate a couple of articles every day

You will not have ANY trouble if you translate the text. DMCA can touch you only if you copy the content from a website and take the credits for it. So you don't have to worry about that.

Go for it. These types of sites appeal to people at a very human level, so it will definitely work in your country assuming people have access to the internet.

One of my friends is doing same business. He took very popular Russian website with videos, interesting topics (that are updated daily), hired 3 translators (as the ammount of information on the website is almost limitless for even three translators with a full working day) and translated it to the language of his country. He is going very well so far. Give it a try !

Yes, I am going to do that. I probably didn't explain myself well: I will be giving credit/source for the images, but not for the text.

After some more research, there seem to be a couple of sites already doing this.
They are quite succesfull actually: Facebook followers are 146K, 148K and 220K for the three biggest that I found untill now.

Still a good idea to pursue?

I think you will be successful if it has a good domian branding.

The domain name frantic properly by your audience, and participate in the network share social network.

Placing additional good high PR backlinks backlink profile or domain PR aged

Is a good method but if you can outsource, because there are a lot of news to translate there...
