Does Twitter Have An Affiliate Program?

Just curious.

Does Twitter have an affiliate program?

By that I mean do they pay you when someone signs up a new Twitter account via your link.

A popular business model is to build up traffic and then wait for google or microsoft to buy you out. That could be their plan too.

They are not going to be adding any of that, they are simply pulling a Myspace and waiting until they think it's near peak and than selling off.

I don't think any of you are remotely on the right track or even bothered to look.

1. Goto twiters website if you don't see an affiliate link they don't have one.

2. MySpace i'm pretty sure had ads way before they were bought out.

3. Twitter is only run by 25 people (read their about us page). They do plan to monetize they are just getting their feet off the ground and don't want to drive away users hence their holding off. Not to mention they simply do not have the resources to handle ads at this time or at least not that effectively.

I'm not certain but based on their employee benefits I believe they are running on private funds or venture capitalists money... Meaning they need to produce revenue or who ever's fronting them the startup money (if it's not their own) will indeed drop them.

Considering the type of site twitter is one would think they would have ads. Especially things like adsense that read context I suspect would do well as the offers would likely be highly related.

Overall I believe as I stated above twitter is holding out until they can find a way to implement ads without stifling their growth. As many users would likely leave because of this so at the present time it is most likely and far to volatile to implement ads.

Twitter can be monetized in a staggering amount of ways. They just have yet to do any of them.

Do you know how much content is on Twitter?
