$10 is a good price for a Wikipedia link (when compared with other providers). But from my experience - I have 6 websites that have link from Wikipedia and I have never seen any rise in SERP after getting the link. I see a Wikipedia link rather as a mark of website's trustworthiness (therefore more space for playing with other linkbuilding tactics).

Also don't forget you can get Wiki links for free. I have websites in some niches (e.g. everything about certain animal) and can place link easily on a Wikipedia page on that topic.

And here is a method on how to bank hard:

Check nearby universities.
Check the professors that work there.(search anthropology, language, sociology and other similar departments where people publish a lot of books)
Check if they have published any books and see if their books have links from wikipedia. Of course I'm talking about links to the relevant subject the books are on.
If they don't have tell them that you can add their book links to the relevant wikipedia page.
Charge high. Depending on the standards of your country I'd suggest you charge at least the minimal monthly wage for this(if it's cheap they will doubt you).
Profit!

Note: You can also target universities that are farther away from you, BUT I'd suggest that you start first with local. The idea is to get their contacts from the university website and contact them and ask them if they are interested. If they are go and talk to them face to face for higher success. Make sure you have a good "business plan" to present and clear explanation on the pros.

They might be professors, but they aren't omniscient, so a lot of them might publish a ton of books, but don't have the slightest idea on how to add their sites/books to wikipedia or in fact haven't even thought about it. Not everyone knows the benefits of having their work being added as reference.
I had a professor who was really accomplished in his field, but this had never even crossed his mind. I told him about this and he found someone to do it for him(I'm not that familiar with wikipedia) and he was satisfied enough that like 1 month later he gave me quite a few gifts as gratitude(about $200 worth of gifts).

P.S. Before haters start hate. Yes indeed a lot of professors have assistants who take care of their "advertisement", but trust me not everyone have/want an assistant.

I didn't make $200. I was given as a gift without even asking. The guy that did the job for the professor also made him a new site and quite a few other things and my professor paid a little over $2500 for the total "package". I never said anything about offering to create a site as well as increase his visibility on the net because it requires a lot more work and instead I just suggested just the wiki links.

I assume since you have never interacted with a professor you have no idea how important to them is to become accomplished. Each and every one of them tries their best to prove themselves in their circles and $2000-3000 isn't even anything they would bat an eyelash over if it can help them.

I'm curious though. What's with the disdain in your tone. Are you lacking that much intelligence that you can't even comprehend that what I wrote is a working method to make money?
I'd suggest next time instead of trying to grab a "thanks" from other members by playing the "smart guy" put a little thought and just don't post at all.
