Pinterest Traffic Monetization Choices

Hey Guys,
I really appreciate your help on this forum and I'd like to ask a question regarding Pinterest monetization. I have been working with Adsense an all my sites and everything is good so far. Now I have submitted myself to Shareasale and found a couple of great deals there. So I've setup a call to action on one of my sites and got 150 highly targeted clicks so far with 0% conversions.
Having 150 clicks on my adsense would bring me around 40$ of earnings.
Did anyone work with Shareasale affiliate program using Pinterest traffic and if so, is it worth it or it's just a waste of time?

It's hard to convert ordinary stuff into sales. Pinterest is a social network first, which means traffic is generally not in a buying mode. You have to have some kind of wow effect on products you promote I guess, otherwise they just repin/like your shit and move on with their repin/like routines.

What offer were you promoting? It could be a lot of things that lead to 0% conversion.

Pinterest traffic is actually a lot more better than FB traffic.

I am promoting shoes. I pin cool shoes, they click on the pin and then are taken to my site where I tell them where to buy them. So basically they only click on Buy if they want to.
Got 175 clicks with 0% so far.

Have you tried Amazon? My niche is in recipes and links are to cooking products. The sales made are not always the cooking stuff, but for other categories. It's the typical Amazon strategy which is just try to get as many clicks to Amazon and you'll get some sales.

thanks for your reply. I have tried Amazon but a commission there is quite low. How much would you earn from say 200 people taken to the Amazon store_?
I mean, the really question is: does it worth to promote stores or should I stick on Adsense and do not bother myself anymore trying to find the gold nugget)

For this quarter (from Apr 1?), this recipe website has only sent 536 clicks to Amazon, 16 sales for total of $41.00. The site average is 800-1000 uniques / day mostly from Pinterest.

Amazon is only part of the game for me. If a particular recipe is receiving a lot of visits, I make a link to a product within the article. Not a pitch for products, more along the lines of "Cut vegetables with knife" with "knife" having an affiliate link. Most recipes do not have an Amazon link. What I really want is CB and that's a whole new process requiring presales and what not.

Good. Through I see that 536 clicks would bring about 536*0.2 (as the smallest one) = 107$ in adsense, so that's why I am asking this question, if it makes any sense to drive the traffic to any affiliate or is it better to stick with adsense...

I have tried to get some e-mails, but it looks like it's easier to scrape them, then gather organically.

The 1k are mostly browsing types, so not much conversion is going on. My adsense ctr is less than 2%. Most pages do not have an Amazon link because Amazon was not the original monetization method. It was always adsense. Also, not all pages are receiving traffic. Maybe only 15-20 recipes are getting consistent traffic, so those are the ones I went back and added Amazon links. Again, the links are not for a product review, it's for recipe with some words having links. Hence, they're not in the buying mindset. So Amazon is really an extra. I have a handful of kitchen gadget and gift boards, but they're not getting much engagement. So I haven't built any websites around them.

What I think is going to work, but is taking me time to implement is CB banners that leads to presell pages. As of now, I'm testing out various CB banners direct to video offers. Weight loss types seem to get the most click thrus. Sometimes, I send up to 30 in a day. This year, I made close $500 with CB just by posting banners. To improve it, research pointed me to sending traffic to presell pages/blog instead of direct to video. Those presell pages are where I'll capture emails, not the recipe blog which I want to keep whitehat. We'll see how it goes.

There is. I have some domains that will take me to fashion and health. Just have to build them into something for Pinterest. Dunno yet. Meanwhile, I'm reformatting my recipe sites for rich pins. Supposedly, they make a big difference in traffic. I have 2 recipe sites with over 400 posts to reformat. Gonna work with that first. Fashion-type site by Xmas buying season is my plan.
