Hi there,

I have an Ebay account registered with email (example only) [email protected] , this same email address is already registered with PayPal but it's limited, awaiting address details etc etc, so I cannot add it as a payment option to my ebay account.

BUT I have another PayPal account fully functional and ready to use.
My question is:
If I add this fully working PayPal account as a payment option to my ebay account, will this PayPal account automatically become limited too?
will ebay automatically link them together and limit this PayPal account too?

I wanted to ask here before I add a new payment option, as I do not wish to have another PayPal account limited.

thanks in advance.

No. They work independently.
Accounts are limited based on shady transactions/lack of ID/high no. of charge backs/breaking of tos.

ah ok thanks, so whenever you add a PayPal email as part of your "Payment methods accepted" they are still separate from your ebay account? they won't be linked?

Sorry forgot to mention this is for a seller account, to accept payments, thanks

They work "independently", but they still share details between each other, lol. So I won't do such high risk BS things like linking an non-limited PP acc to an eBay acc where previously (recorded into the hidden DB records forever!) have been added a PP acc which have been already limited.

Every record is keeped forever into their databases, no matter how many times you change your phone/name/address/CC/BA/VBA/VCC/IP/cookies/etc. - every location, every track, every pixel.

Once an eB acc is linked with PP, and if some day ONE of those accounts is limited/banned, the other one is completely useless (in most of the time).

yeah I just created a new Ebay account, even though the score on my old Ebay account is 100%.
Also I never added the limited PayPal acc to my Ebay account ever, the only link they share is the same email address. Hence why I was worried they could limited my new full approved PayPal account if I added it to my current Ebay account.

Though I did read Ebay and PayPal are separating and becoming independent companies soon.

You've read the headlines or the title only, but without going deeply into the details - that are more important.

eBay, PayPal Offer New Details About Split

They continue to share details each other, no matter what they're saying or changing their privacies/TOS.

thanks staunch i want to ask you a question

i just recently had a banned ebay account that cant buy or sell anymore it says on my username no longer a registered user however the paypal account that was attached to that banned ebay account is fine and not limited or anything like that.

so my question is can i still use the paypal account to accept other payments from other paypal accounts or will it get banned just like my ebay account now is because it was linked to it?

If it is safe and not banuted yet, you can continue to accept PP payments. Don't make the mistake tho like - sending money from your PP2 acc to your PP1 acc - that will be catched and both limited. Only payments from other (different people all over the world) PP accs, OUT-OF-eB payments. read the PP AUP in order to know what is permited.
