What is meant by web 2.0?

Does Web 3.0 even exist in the first place?
apparently it exists, but it means different things for different people

"The term used to describe the evolution of the Web as an extension of Web 2.0"
"Connective intelligence; connecting data, concepts, applications and ultimately people"
"The Semantic Web"
"Web 3.0 will be more connected, open, and intelligent, with semantic Web technologies, distributed databases, natural language processing, machine learning, machine reasoning, and autonomous agents."

I was confused about this for the longest time. Here's the deal.

Web 1.0's are sites with no interaction - like they all used to be. So you create a website, people can read it, but nobody can post a comment or like or do anything really apart from reading what you posted.

Web 2.0's are sites with interaction - social media, blogs where people can leave comments, post stuff themselves.

That's basically the main difference, the interaction is 2.0, the no interaction is 1.0. The reason for the confusion is that people will tell you that 2.0's are blogger, wordpress, and other such free blogging platforms. While that's technically true, that's not all, web 2.0s are Any and All sites where interaction can take place.

Hello!

Web 2.0 is basically content based activity. It allows us to create blog that consist important facility of interaction with user such as like the post or comment something about others content.

But a user interaction doesn't available in web 1.0.

So web 2.0 is advanced one from web 1.0. It possess some advanced features to make nice of the website what creater needs.

Some examples of web 2.0 below mentioned..

1. Wikia
2. eHow
3. Tumblr
4. Wordpress

Web 2.0 is simply the latest version of the internet. Latest version is 2.0.7 now i believe and instead of doing 2.1, they just jump to 3.0, when time comes of course.

Web 2.0's are websites you can post to and have your own url e.g. www.wiki.com/Keyword

They are normally social and allow you to have parasite pages and your own subdomains sometimes. (They can be used for Blog networks (Not as effective as real ones))

In general term web 2.0 mean user interactive content, where you can create , share with the website, previously most sites are static, where user can just read posted content.

In seo term web 2.0 sites are those that allow you to post your links.
web 2.0 blog site (wordpress, blogger) allow to create blog and post articles with links
web 2.0 bookmark(reddit) allow to share / bookmark websites
