I am having some luck getting my youtube videos ranked with unlisted method (though not everytime), but the videos drop after 24 hours.

However a couple of videos have stayed on top for a few days, but I could not figure out how.

Does anyone know a way to keep videos ranked after getting them on the first page with unlisted method?

You need more views, and more comments to keep your video's rank. You can use exchange site or buy youtube views and comments services.

Thanks for the replies. I am already doing all of these when I upload the video - get 2000-5000 views, embed videos on 30 web 2 blogs, get 50-100 likes, 10-20 comments, around 200 social signals

Then I can rank them but they are down again after 24 hours. What do I do to keep them ranked for a week or a month?

I am also optimizing with title, description, transcripts and tags. But they don't last more than a day on the first page.

Depends on competition. If you pop on top and get flagged a lot (flagging war nowadays is pretty damn common), your video will drop. What niche are you in? (broad one of course, don't reveal your exact niche/keywords on public)

YT bans the video when it ranks suddenly (within a day or two), slowly optimize when you are using unlisted methods. Play a hide and seek game with Google and YouTube.

Remember you can rank a dummy video, but its very tough to make stay them to the top 10. So the video must satisfy the viewer request or i other words the video must not let him/her to click the flag.

My videos are original, not dummy, and never get flagged (actually I do not know if they get flagged, but I have never received a notification). Also, non of my videos or channel have ever got banned, my account is quite old 5-6 yrs, and my current channel in 3 years old.So the problem is not that.. the videos do continue to get views after the first 24 hours, more than they normally would. But the drop is a lot, say a 80% drop suddenly after 24 hours.

Most of the people wouldn't share their working tricks. You have to figure it out yourself. :p You should properly optimize the tags, description and title of the video and keep giving it shares, likes, and views to see how it works for you. I was never able to keep my video on 1st page after 24 hours, so I don't know for sure but there must be a way to so. :)
