Stagger posting to your own boards vs gradually post thru the day?

Note this is only for posting to my own boards not group boards.

What I had been doing is just post 24 pins a day in one shot and then leaving it till next day. But since ive been doing twitter I do posting thru the day every 50 mins its making me wonder if I should do the same for pinterest.

So does staggering them make a substantial difference in terms of exposure/traffic?

It's hard to say.You need to try it out.
But 24 in a row sounds a bit much.

I tried that on group boards and when they had much pinners, there was a difference on repins and clicks.
But I always used big and high quality images so, when you saw them in a row they were a eyecatcher.
If you have shitty pictures it could make it worse, so like always depends on the board and content.

But tried it out with lower numbers, 24 sound way too much.

Since "smart feed" has been implemented, your pins are no longer shown immediately or at all to your followers. It goes thru a complex rating system before it gets a chance to be seen. You should look up "pinterest smart feed" and read up on it.

Prior to smart feed, your question had an easy answer: pin when your audience is on. Nowadays, it's not so easy.

Having said that and I have no basis for this, but from what you're asking and wanting to do, maybe it's best to first cast a wide net, look for a good pattern, then readjust. So stagger at first to cover as many time zones as possible. Do that for a few days. Study the results and see which pins and what time zones get the best engagements. Then reset your pinning pattern to take full advantage.

As for me, I have multiple accounts that go on rotation during what's considered prime pinning hours, e.g. 2-4pm, 7pm-1am. I make it simple and just set to pin from 2pm - 12midnight. I'm US pacific, so I cover 5pm to 3am eastern. Results are mixed for my own boards. The better results come from groupboards.

Did you take a hit to your traffic lately? Like, last couple of days?

I lost about 30% traffic from previous months. But I think it's because an IMer who picked up one of my images and constantly referred traffic to me got his domain banned. It happens from time to time with this guy and he finds a way to start again using the same picture.

Yeah, that's a lot. Still not as much as me. I'm seeing 75-80% decrease in the last week. Might be due to these most recent changes. I'll have to test differnet content/images, but if it continues like this I'll have to give up.

Also, are you pinning strictly to you own followers or do you pin to groupboards? I think groupboard engagements have been affected less by smart feed than non-groupboard. That's why I'm focusing more on building and joining groupboards. It takes a long time because the process is manual.

Yeah, I'm actually only pinning into group boards. I was getting 200-300 visits before, per account, from group boards. Now I'm barely hitting 40.

My stats have remained relatively the same. They might be slightly lower but nothing out of the ordinary, or that seems unusual to me. You might just be hitting a random rough patch if nothing else has changed.

Interesting. Keep in mind that Pinterest traffic is typically residual. Meaning that traffic today is a result of what you've pinned in the past. If you're doing the scrape/upload/pin-with-link-to-mysite, then look up old pins that brought you traffic and check if Pinterest reverted the links to the original sites.

I must say theyve gotten alot more cunty recently with random changes to the clicks apparently to throw us off the scent. The exit out of different windows seem to vary now

So is the problem your bot malfunctioning with the links? That's good news in a sense that you found the issue.
