Not sure who's keeping track on the release date for the new OS here?

Just got a notification on all my Windows 7 Installs in the bottom right corner to sign up for Free Upgrade (I wonder how that's going to play out considering all my Win 7 Installations are cracked LOL).

Windows 8 was so bad they decided to call the next one Windows 10 to get as much distance as possible

anybody played around with the betas? any good? worth the effort, or just stick to good old Win 7?

i haven't played with Win 10 so far, but if you're running IM tools on your machine, i'd say just stick to Win 7, because it can be that some or most of those won't work on Win 10 right away and the devs need some time to adapt their tools to the new OS for sure

i just checked, general availability: 08.31.2015, still 3 months left

I tested Windows 10 and if you h8 win 8 then sorry m8 its not gr8. Seriously its not that bad, improved and polished Windows 7 it is.

I got the notification too, however I have no idea how to get rid of the tray icon.

One thing is for sure, I will stick with Windows 7 for now.

hmm, I had no idea. Does anyone know that if I download the trial, do I have to commit and purchased the full version when it comes out? That happened to me one time, but I am wondering if anything has changed.

Windows10 is free upgrade for everyone.

Am sticking with Windows 7 for now, never loved the windows 8. But am eager to checkout the windows 10, the full version.

I like to use win 8 after 8 PM. And by the way m8, I watched some heavyw8 boxing last night in half past 8. Isnt that gr8?

Didn't receive notification on my torrented copy .. mayb it's region release ..

But i don't see why anyone would ask such question "to switch or not to switch".

It's as simple as 1. Dual boot. 2. Run it in VM. '

The rule is always to separate production from test in everything.

I cant w8 to upgrade from windows 8, can you rel8 m8?

I almost spewed up water which i was drinking on my laptop screen, thanks for that mate :p LOL

I liked the preview of Win10, but I still need my classic start menu (like on Win7) before I fully switch. Windows 7 was like XP, just solid.

I hope this isn't Windows Vista 3.0 (After 8).

as far as I know they kinda merged 7 & 8.1 on 10

What they need to do is give the option of one look or another, not try and get everyone to conform. Some love the tiles, others don't. Tiles are better for touch screens, but I prefer the list. A simple option for this would be brilliant.

I'm posting now from Windows 10 tehnical preview, it's quite nice.

My oppinion is that windows 10 is a combination between windows 7 and 8. Still is a beta...or tehnical preview and has some problems but it's on my wishlist to buy him when it's ready, i'm already a lover.

I hasave the icon on my screen, and I have been running 10 inside a virtual machine. At any rate, the word is that the RTM date is July 6th. Aside from My own testing, the word is that 10 is not ready for the masses and that M$ is pushing the improperly ready version any how.

The old realease wisdom was to waity until the first service pack. However, M$ is doing away with that service pack model and sort of releasing hot fixes when they are complete. You might want to wait a few months before installing 10 as a stand alone system and let other take the bleeding edge nicks and cuts.
