Targeting rip off report reviews

After much reading and considering opening up shop in this specific market, as customer service sucks nowadays, I am wondering what the general opinions are of the experts.

As the topic describes, say there is a top rank of a bad listing. Why would this not be a great opportunity to reach out "PUBLICLY" by the establishment, to attempt to rectify the situation. Even better if ROR tries it's extortion method of payoff for good reviews, to create a series of sites and articles that paint the establishment as attempting to do good, but in the face of online strong arm tactics, are being ripped off by rip off report? Press releases, email screen shots, customer testimonials of new and improved situation, etc....

I see bad publicity as a way of slingshotting good publicity, as the owner is now involved and taking proactive steps to Gove customers what they feel is lacking, or righting their wrongs.

I think this would be effective, unless rip off report plays some C&D bullshit, in which you should have attempted first, and made public as well! Document and publish the road of obstacles presented...

Whoops! I was on my phone and noticed it was at 1% when I was towards the bottom of that post. My question, if I remember correctly, is this:

Experts and/or experienced ORM people, have you ever tried to openly discredit a rip off report review, instead of just drown it out of the top of the serps? Have you attempted the c&d letters to ROR with any results in your favor? Have you otherwise found yourself on the receiving end of THEIR C&D letters for your tactics?

ROR is crazy....they are extorting IMHO. $3000 to open a dispute

If recent the biz owner should make a very level headed "explanation" and depending on the review point out the unfair way this site is used. I have seen some horrible stuff there

If "older"...best to ignore it and help them get more positive links and real reviews on decent sites
There are a lot of weird stuff and vendettas on ROR I do think. It is very unreasonable - even if the review was left by a former employee...or a former lover LOL....they can't remove it or change it. Totally sucks. Don't deal with crazy - sometimes best to just bury that hornet's nest

Not to mention - ROR won't get involved with you at all, will only refer you to the link to pay 3 grand for a hearing

I had met a spiritual healer in another part of my life who always said 'Focus your energy on the creative, not the destructive processes. Let karma take care of the rest.' I would rather focus on bring in new customers as well as retaining my old customers by offering solid products, rather than going after what a questionable website says about me. My 2 cents

Me too. But Google is strange anyway. I had a website where I used to post quality content every week and still it took Google weeks to list it at 8th position of serps.

Is that truth or just a rumor? Given the amount of people who complain on ROR lol, I would doubt each and every one of them paid 3k to post there lol
