Can this theory work assuming that Google has Resources to implement it?

A true PBN (PRIVATE!) if setup correctly can not be stopped easily.

If you have every research tool which is public blocked that means your competitors wont see it so there is no one to report you and google can not see if you have created it well as in, like a money site created by many different people.

Assuming you're building PBN's made up of solely expired domains?

An effective PBN will diversify. When done correctly it's not trivial to detect.

The death of <insert the process of the day> will probably happen at some point but I think that for Google to consider any dropped domain NG, for whatever period of time one determines, as to having authority is not taking into account a lot of variables that are make sense.

One small real life example:

About 20 months ago I was looking at buying into a business on the west coast of Florida. The business had a decent web site and some very strong links... in fact a lot of very strong golden backlinks. I decide that the biz does not really fit what me so I pass on it and move on.

Not all that long ago, I decide to check the site and see what is happening with them. Site is down and I get the "Server not found Firefox can't find the server at www.site.com" message.

I then hop into my InternetBS account to see if it is available and it is so I buy it and recreate the site with some minor changes.

Now, I have the domain, a site that is pretty close to what it was in the past and it is laden with backlinks from some real strong sites.

Google is going to say, "BTB, since that site was down for 8 months I am giving it no authority." or is Google going to say, "BTB, nice to see that you {got the business up and running again|remembered to renew your domain|started your business up again|some other random reason}."

I would think the latter myself as that makes the most sense to me in a real world situation.

I am not saying that the site itself will not rank or loose authority, that will have lots of collateral damage. I am saying that Google will let the site rank nicely due to its domain authority and existing link, but since the site was already down the other sites getting link from this site have lost the link juice. Why not extend that period by some months, so its not used for the purpose of link building.

That way the site itself will rank, but any outbound links from the site will not pass juice.

Standard reply, without reading or understanding the theory I have put up. Lets say Google reduces / eliminates outbound link juice of any (emphasis) website that is recreated after expiry for a limited time period (the recreated site will rank itself but is not able to pass link juice). How is this has anything to do with private / public network or competitors reporting the website.

My theory does not involve Google to identify a particular website as PBN. Even if you have a PBN of mixed sites both expired and bought from auction, if Google applies this theory, the expired domain links part of network become worthless for a certain period of time which acts as a deterrent.

It applies to all the recreated sites on the internet irrespective if its a PBN or not (the site will not loose ranking for itself but to the sites which it link to).

Don't worry about Google stopping PBNs, it'll happen soon I'm sure.

There are so many morons making threads about them outlining the exact blueprint of how things are done step-by-step, I'm sure they'll figure it out.

Heck there are even people making threads suggesting ideas how to stop them too, and some of them even have polls attached!

Sorry mate, had so many newbies fed with stuff that PBNs are infallible that could not resist bringing this out in public. I am sure Google knows about this method or other methods, just waiting for maximum people to get on the cart before toppling it.

No cus i would buy domains that haven't been expired/dropped yet, like others have sad a good PBN is not easy to spot, my PBN's excists out of all real sites, with their own social media stuff and even some monetization (No Adsense of course) and i am confident that these sites will not get de-indexed because one they don't look like sites you see in when you buy PBN links in the BST, they add value to the internet, and i have made it real hard for Google to connect them.

PBN's are not going anywhere as long as you take the time and invest the money so that your PBN sites pass a manual inspection, people who are getting their network deindexed are mostly: lazy, ignorant or both imho. And also Google isn't really interested to use their resources to filter out these PBN's, the ones that get hit are being caught by manual reviewers and sometimes they take down a public PBN wale down for propaganda purposes. Have you ever seen the responses of scary webmasters with a PBN of 10 sites when Google takes down a wale, it is great cus they are scared that they're next, just like Google wants then to be :)

So keep building your PBN's, do it smart and spend a view bucks extra on them, they should be high up your budget list, not as a closer.

Already mentioned that this theory can work only on PBN created from expired domains, but if you make PBN out of expired domains this is a workable solution and the PBNs are not infallible.

This theory does not require Google to deindex PBN domains, infact, they can rank the PBN domains well but kill their outbound link juice for some time (only for expired domains).

I got that :)

That is why i sad i would step over to domains that haven't expired cus that would mean that Google would kill every site outbound link juice that changed server/name what would mean they would kill the whole domain selling business. I think the reason Google doesn't reset expired domains has everything to do with cost, not only on resources buut also implementation the algo that is already as complicated as it is, if it would benefit their bottom line they would have done it a long time ago, butt i guess t doesn't

Google already has ways to detect PBN's. If you have a look around in the market place then you'll see lots of threads about PBN's and you can buy cheap posts on them... the problem is that 95% of those PBN's are really crap and sooner or later will be de-indexed as they have no value to the end visitor.
On the other hand, if you build helping and informative websites, websites which provide accurate and relevant information for the end users then google doesn't care if those sites are built on expired domains and it doesn't care if you link out. All google wants is to have websites in their index which are useful and informative.

I understood the question, there is a reason the huge networks were taken down only by google buying links on them.

Agreed with you!
To be honest I don't really think it's even worth it for Google to police PBNs. Maybe bust a few public networks every now and then to create fear, but beyond that I don't think it's even worth their resources.

All they need to do is manually monitor the bigger niches and let the SERPs be and continue to rake in profits.

It's not like if a black hat site or a white hat site is on page 1 really matters as long as the information helps the searcher I don't see why Google would care really.

All the posts in reply are about the intention of Google. Google does not care, Google will not do anything to informative pbn etc. What I am talking about is the ability of Google (not whether they can, should or would) to algorithmically make a credible deterrent by devaluing outbound links of recreated expired domains. Which proves that pbn (whether private or public) made from expired domains are not infallible.

I have not got a single response which debunks that this theory cannot be operated due to some collateral damage or credible technical issue (not Google's intention).

Whether Google uses this technique or any other technique or does not use is not the point of discussion. The point of discussion is can they use this technique? and would it be successful without causing collateral damage?

- Yes, they can... but they won't as there're better techniques.

-Yes they can't but they wont as the gains are to low to invest in seeking out small PBN networks, its next to impossible to detects them if you set it up the right way.

Could they do this - hell yes they could.

Google is doing and can do way bigger shit than detect small PBNs.

Is it worth their time and resources though? F#uck no, they're busy going to the moon and putting unmanned cars on the road and shit.

Sometime, I think like you. And maybe somebody ,working on Google, also thinks this way. But I think, They still have some reasons to consider about it. Maybe GG can stop it in the future (who know) but not now ;)

Hello Everybody,

I asked myself the question, what would I do to stop PBNs if I were Google?

Ans: Stop giving any weight to any outbound link on any website raised from the dead (i.e. expired & deindexed and created again) for specific period of time i.e. say six months.

This strategy will effectively stop PBNs without affecting any person who uses any expired domain to make a valuable site as the site itself will be able to rank but its outbound links will not count for some random period of time. So if the site is made purely for link building it will loose it purpose.

Short & Simple, thats it. Now ready to take the blows.

If your asking could they just automatically devalue domains that had expired? Sure they could. But people buy and sell domains everyday for reasons other pbn. But I would guess that are looking at how many outbound links a domain. Most pbns are nothing but 300-400 word posts with 3 outbound links. So a huge amount of outbound links compared to amount of content would be a much better indicator.
As to small private blog networks I cannot imagine them using any concerted effort to find them. Probably depen on your competitors to report them.

Just shut the hell up and stop giving Google ideas OP.....

This is not helpful for anyone BUT GOOGLE.........

It's absolutely easy for G to stop PBNs but the reality is PBNs are one of the least spammy method that G wouldn't sweat to devalue them or may not be in the priority list, there are many other super powerful spammy methods which they might be focusing on.

Time to time you come up with awesome ideas from your shiny new(unused) brain huh :P
