Because google will take into account how long your on the website for and your actions after you click the ad. It will seem a little suspicious if you visit your website click the ad and then immediately leave after clicking.

Even if you act 'normal' google will cross-reference your ad stats to other websites with similar traffic and realize your earnings are through the roof.

it depends on your goal:
1. if your goal is to have a banned account, then the answer is yes
2. if you're planning to cash out, then the answer is no unless if you have a time machine which is capable of taking you back 10 years in time, maybe clicking on your own ads considered to be a blackhat method back then, now it's more like dumbhat

You will get banned for invalid clicks, even if they don't discover that is you clicking, they will see that the ads convert bad so you will get banned or your cpc will be extremely low.
