So I noticed the Instagram @nature was recently banned...

This was a large account, over 5 million followers and it cited the photographers of each post in great detail. So I don't believe copyright issues were the problem. I never saw an ad/shoutout posted on the account.

Is no account safe anymore?

Since there are sometimes businesses behind big accounts who loose thousands and thousands of dollars i wonder if someone spends 30-40k on a lawyer and try to sue instagram what would be the result if they bann without a real reason.

Just because a photographer was credited, that doesn't mean copyrights weren't violated. People tend to forget that the main purpose of copyrights is to prevent the reproduction of something. Whether it's reproduced (copied) on paper, on television, or on a website -- it doesn't matter.

So true.

Instagram is hunting all the big accounts that are violating something even if its minor to protect them self from future lawsuits. No one will make a fuzz for 3K account violating copyrights but accounts that are in the M range are closely watched for violations by IG.

I'm not sure about that. They're just responding to requests, and if enough requests of violation of copyrights are sent to the 3k account, it will get banned, and the same will happen to a 3m account.

Look at @bestvacations they're doing the same thing, except, they are getting photos sent to them with the only purpose being to post them to their Instagram.

There has to be more to the story than ONLY copyright violation.

I noticed this account gone aswell. They make heaps of money on shoutouts. I tried them once even a permanent post of mine only gained me 800 followers and my account is a 128k nature page. Horrible conversion rate considering i gain that much in 2 days anyway. That same $150 could have gotten me at least 10,000 followers from instagress across a month.

Anyway, i wonder if people sent emails as proof he was charging for shoutouts? He uses his same email he used to register the account to organise the money deals.

That's a big tip in itself. Always use a different email to that of your registered one for the account.

I doubt it was just banned because copyright issues, it has to be something else. Because if that was true we would see all the big pages disappearing.

Selling shoutouts isn't against the ToS of Instagram. Selling the account itself is however. So, unless he violated some other terms, I doubt he was banned for selling shoutouts.

5 million followers and he was only getting 150 a shoutout? or was that for only 1 hour?

Also how does $150 get you 10,000 followers on instagress. Instagress is only 10 dollars a month

A friend of mine had his 2m+ fashion account banned due to too many advertisements/shoutouts. He would upload them and delete them after 10mins, it may be a reason due to this.

I think it's been about 3 weeks though since it has been banned...
i wasn't aware of that, i thought it was banned just now, then i guess resurrection isn't a possible outcome anymore lol

it can be several reasons why it got banned, i've never had any big accounts like this on instagram ever, once i had a big account on twitter, my personal acc and on one sunny day it was disabled when i haven't even touched the acc for a year at least, before that i did a lot of things which violated twitter's TOS, using bots, aggressive following, getting tens of thousands of fake followers, spam the followers etc., but i wasn't banned right on spot for those, i got banned after the acc was sitting there for a year doing nothing

my point is even if you get away with a lot of things for a while, later you still can get banned for those
so it can be one of the reasons mentioned above or it doesn't even need to be a recent thing, maybe the acc owner did something stupid when the acc was smaller and ig caught up to it just now

but judging by what mladz said above, a good portion of that 5M+ followers might have been fake, which is also a violation

Is no account safe anymore?
even celebs get their ig accs banned left and right, if they violate the rules, if you're a mere mortal, you can't really expect anything better no matter how big is your acc, that's why i'm truly amazed how so many people here have the balls and patience to build their authority accs for long months or even years maybe even violating the TOS here and there, just to later get banned for any stupid reason

I never saw an ad/shoutout posted on the account.
i'm not sure how closely you watched the acc, but posts can get deleted like if they have never happened

That would break my heart in so many pieces if that happened to me...

If you are not the original creator of the account, you can get banned. Now you have proof of this.

5mil account doesn't steal content, they are probably flooded with 1000's of requests a day to be featured.

Copyright is not the issue.

If you buy accounts, instead of creating them yourself, you are at risk of being banned. @Nature lost all his accounts for this reason

Nature got my one letter IG taken from me, and also bought sold and traded accounts. He also came to me requesting a username to be "obtained" for him.. i'm assuming that's how he got all of his usernames. I'm also told he fucked over a lot of people in the IG community in terms of reporting the buying / trading of accounts which is why I decided not to do business with him in the first place.

His ban is for the better imo

Damn, he was out here snitching? smh

$150 is enough to run 20 accounts on instagress for a month. if each account gives you 20 followers a day..thats 400 a day...thats 12k a month. You can do at least 100 @main comments a day with each account...

Do the sums it's quite simple. This is all assuming you have 20 accounts ready to go that's all you need.
