A Noobs journey into the unknown

Interresting project. I'm looking to get started in NSFW-blogging myself, from the same complete beginner position. I will be focusing more on tumblr, since it's built for posting visual stuff. Did you do any mass following/liking on there, and did you use any tags?

How much time did you spend on getting fitting ads for your nieche and how much control do you currently have over what is shown/sold to your visitors?

Well I don't know if I'm the person to ask for advice on tumblr. I stopped using it because I wasn't having much luck with it. If you search around the forum you can probably find some better advice then I could give.

As for the ads it's more of a trial and error thing. I've been using plugrush and crackrevenue and I'm happy with them. I tried a few different things out before I settled with what I have now. With crackrevenue you can see all the stats from the ads you put up and even track them. Your going to have to play around with it till your happy. I can't really give you a time frame. It took me days at a time testing the ads and tweaking them around.

I have a header banner from crackrevenue that shows the same thing everytime. Pick one and it's the exact same till you change it. With plugrush thought you can pick the niches that you want your ads to show but what is shown is different almost everytime.

Trial and error then trial and error and then after that a little more trial and error.

I use imacros to follow and unfollow people everyday. I also have one that I set to favourite tweets from things that are trending very popularly.

<%23TRENDHERE> is where you put the trend. %23 is hashtag and TRENDHERE is whatever your trend is. If it's a trend without a hashtag then just put <TRENDHERE>. If it's more than one word you would put a + sign in there so it would <TREND+HERE>.

I find two popular trends for the day and run this imacros once for each one.
 
Doing a midnight update because I'm having issues and I'm very frustrated. So I was getting everything ready and set up to do 10 more auto-blogs today and I started having issues even accessing the website. I keep getting server cannot be found error when I try to connect. If I go through kproxy though it loads up fine. So after 2 hours on the phone with host gator support I have a ticket opened up. I managed to get one more made before the issues started. Apparently it's just me having the issues getting on to the site. :wtf::wt::abducted::damnit1: on the plus side thought I didn't realize how many cool emoticons there are
 
Quick update hostgator got back to me and everything should be good to go in a couple hours.

Yesterday was pretty productive I made another bunch of auto-blogs taking the total up to 40 and it's going to stay there for a while till I make enough to buy a twitter bot. Only two twitters got locked from the bunch that I made yesterday which isn't too bad.

The plan for the day is to improve the twitter accounts ie: change the pictures if needed add/change the header image update the profile things like that. I want to link all the blogs up to each other as they all fall under the same broad general nice. I need to do something about the main domain page it's still blank so it's showing an index of page. The last thing and I'm not going to get this done all in one day is to find another 60 niches so in the future I can scale it up to 100 autoblogs. I won't be doing that in the next day or two though.

What exactly is an autoblog? I keep seeing that everywhere but don't know how they work or what they are for.

A blog that updates itself. Pick a bunch of rss feeds in the same niche and everytime they post something your blog will post it too.

What tool do you use for that? If This Then That? Or does word press have the ability to integrate RSS feeds like that?

It's a plugin that I use for that it's called feedwordpress
 
Ah, very nice kind Sir! I also think that If This Then That can do something similar. Will have to try out your method as well!
 
Not going to do a stats update today. I got screwed yesterday my site was offline for half the day (the busier half) I already almost have more than yesterday. I didn't even earn anything with plugrush. One thing I did do was add exoclick into my monetization scheme. I made 5 cents yesterday off of 3 clicks so I'm think this should juice up the earnings.

Hostgators telling me for current needs I should upgrade to a dedicated server. I don't know what I should do right now. Everythings working fine again but for how long?
 
The big excitement for the day Followliker! I wanted to make enough money to buy it but it takes soooo much time even using imacros to follow and unfollow and all that shit for 40 twitter accounts. So hopefully this will not only make my life a little easier but get me more followers faster! Got a lead on Cr yesterday for $2.75. Pr is up to $0.25 for yesterday (new high). Exoclick is even giving me some extra cents a day. Things are starting to come together quickly now! As for my server issues I think I'll be fine for a couple months. I'll look into getting a dedicated server after my term with the vps is up (end of july). I wont be doing any more scaling up for a while I don't think the vps could handle anymore auto-blogs. I'll update my total followers later I still haven't set followliker up and that's the first thing that's getting done today.

Yep I got fucked good today and they didn't even spit on it.... My domain name is marked as malware by twitter. The one good thing to come from arvixe was domain name for life so I'm back to using my original domain name. I don't know what I'll do with the other one. All my cron jobs were fucked I don't know what happened but things got fucked so I'm basically restarting should be a day or two before things are back.

Edit: Nvm both my domains are marked as malware I don't know what to do right now
Edit2: K things are sort of back on track got a new domain name (better one too) I'm just having to restart from scratch basically. I have knowledge on my side though AND KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! I don't think I'm going to be sleeping tonight but that's okay

I have 10 new twitter accounts that are working just fine with it I know now to be more carefull with it. It's a very powerful tool I should be able to get back to where I was before the banhammer in a couple weeks without having to do a lot of manual work.

As for the domain name and the autoblogs I've started over with a new brandable domain name I bought for just over a dollar. I have redone another 8 autoblogs so far I'll be up to 10 by the end of the night taking a quick break right now.

Another issue is my server cannot handle 40 autoblogs so I'm going to get back to 30 and leave it there. There was a bunch of issues sprouting from that. Cronjobs weren't working the database would constantly go down among other things.

I don't think I'll be able to hit my 10$/day by the end of june like I wanted but were still going to try for it. I've made some changes to my monetization scheme that I think will really help my earnings.
 
Alright so damage report all 40 of my twitters are comfirmed banned. I thought that the ones that weren't on FL would be fine but I thinks it's any that had anything to do with my domain names. So square one is kind of where I'm at. 10 twitters and 10 autoblogs up on my new domain name. About 500 followers so far. I'll try and update as much as I can there isn't much to be updated though in the next few days. Getting my twitters back to where they were is going to take time. I'm not going to make anymore twitters till I can afford some proxies (yes that's how broke I am for the moment lol) I have 10 running on FL off my home IP probably not the smartest idea considering what just happened but I like to live dangerously lol.

What did I learn? Don't be so fucking stupid. Plain and simple.

The only way I truly fail is if I stop trying and that's not happening.
