It's 1-2 months old. It took time to test for moderator,and this is because the bounce rate was bigger.
From 750 opens I think about 100 clicked,so from 100 clicks 17 sales is not bad. If the offer was $10, $170 Profits, $1,7 EPC.

Open rate depends on Subject line, the time you sent.

Using mail servers to send emails and GR aswell and NEVER had any issue.

Yeah, EPC was okay but the missing metrics are the cost of the list and cost of the mailing. So if we figure in the 50% discount that's $200 for the cost of the list plus whatever it cost to send, let's just as $10 to send 50k email. So total costs is $210. Now assuming the sales were worth $10 each, I'd say it's probably a generous assumption, you are looking at a net loss at $40 on the first send.

Now, to be honest, IF it's a good list, you could almost assume that sales would get better as you move along with the list, if you are mailing correctly. So, the return @ a 50% discount looks pretty good.

Now a 4% bounce rate will get you in trouble with just about anybody sending email for you. I'm pretty sure you weren't sending bounces like that through GR.So you either have to clean the list before you send or send across your own servers, where the bounce won't really hurt you but may get you on a couple of blocking lists.

So, this is my question; I don't want to be buying a bunch of bad email addresses. If I am buying 50K, and then I clean, will you make up the difference from emails that I have lost in cleaning?

BUT I want to be clear, if everything here is as it sounds - coming from somebody who mails a lot, it looks like it could be a good deal.

There are a number of email cleaning services, most are quite expensive unless you are pumping some volume through them. We have a few internal tools that we use, identifying dups, bad addresses and roles based IDs mostly, then we send the resulting list of passed emails to the cleaning service.

You will never get a list of 100% good emails, that's just a fact of emailing. But on a purchased list it should be way under 4%. Acceptable for a purchased list would probably be in the 1% area at purchase time. So in this case with a list of 50,000, I would expect no more than 500 to be bad at time of purchase.

Yeah, I'm probably getting in on it too after a response. If I get in I'll be coming back with some real numbers that should apply to just about anybody here who can send emails with some proficiency.

Thanks for interest in my service, you are correct and really nice post you made. Also the profits will depend on the sales page,sales funnel,follow up emails and so on. To answer your question, YES ,I will replace all emails which was bad, bounced.
