I caught a huge IMER in pinterest - What i learned

After being added by a fake account on pinterest, i was curious. I knew she was fake from start (too much signals to watch out for). I saw her pins and half were ads from redirect websites to Aff sites.

Interesting, so i followed the pins and searched for others using the same websites...What i found out was:

- 3 main pinners
- 300 repinners with 400+ followers...3-fuking-hundred

Very interesting, so i went in to see how much traffic he is getting (by sum of repins + likes as an estimate) and they were zero! this guy built 300 freaking accounts with almost 0 engagement in even one of his biggest accounts. When i say "0" i mean you rarely see a like or repin once in 30 pins :/

Here is the reason:
The 300 accounts were following people that are mostly teens, not even in the niche of the ads, and have zero repins!

So for all of you, here is the lesson learned:

-If i caught him, surely pinterest will..so don't spam and don't repin something 300 times (with 0 likes :/)
-Follow only niche-targetted people with decent repins/likes and followers
-focus on few accounts and make profit before jumping to large numbers..

Maybe the guy is making money, but surely he can do money 50 times more because the level of engagement i saw was terrible!

we don't know if he has 0 traffic or not....but he has "huge" number of accounts with little engagement. maybe the numbers add up...that's what huge means ... if i knew he was making millions, i wouldn't write about it, i would be doing what he does

What if it's just a noob with 3 accs subscribed to some kind of recurring repin service? Would explain the crappy quality of the accounts. It would be a shame to buy 300 accs and not spend 5 minutes configuring keywords for your bot...

I checked 30 of them and i found out that the only recurring posts were his. also, same pattern (twitter acc, 0 likes, same pins, same number of boards, same niches) lol he thought "scale it up" meant copy-paste-forget anyways it is a shame, cause a lot of time and money wasted

simple, 0 re-pins = low traffic.
if your pins are not going viral, then your site is also not

Next time, please read the post man! what is learned is that having 100,000 followers is zero if they aren't suitable enough...so before wasting money, try to know the best combination unlike our friend

I still think that this method works. He (the guy OP caught) may just need to refine it, i.e. IPs, pin source variety, etc. My reason for believing so is that one of my images became popular and got scraped by some other IMer. That guy sends me traffic from various domains. Some got banned by Pinterest. But they he keeps rebuilding, repinning, and getting traffic. At one point, he's sending me 500 UVs per day until that domain got banned.

Now, I'm seeing traffic from another domain and I'm recognizing the same pictures from his previous websites that have been banned. I'm guessing that he's got more than 300 accounts to make this work. Keep in mind that I'm only receiving 500 of his traffic. How much more was he getting?

Does this response even make sense? OP is pointing out a method that I think 99% of people are attempting on Pinterest.. which amounts to posting what might as well be an ad, with hundreds of accounts without ever knowing what actually works on Pinterest or doesn't.. basically they're wasting time and money for zero return.

He's also pointing out that someone left a giant footprint that's easily observable and once pinterest decides it wants to take action, will be mass removed. It won't even matter though because the person behind them won't have made any money anyway.

Exactly thanks uffda...everyone on this forum sees a method and start buying bots and accounts and ips and bla bla to get little return after...Then they come here and whine that this method doesn't work....yes SPAM doesn't work! so let that be a reminder that inorder to make a gd living you need time + testing + don't spend alot...if it works for 10 accounds and you get 1000% ROI, then do it with 5000 accounts not only 300

Engagement is the key in any circle to earn money, and most people overlook the importance of this part. If you cannot share something worth spending time to look, no one would EVER bother to click on it and you wouldn't earn a single penny from it. I hope he learns it sooner than later, it would save him a lot of time, effort and money.
